    I raised a web ticket on Asus website and after a very long time, they finally mentioned that Ac53 uses client-server mode i.e. it uses a random source port and not UDP 123 as source. So I believe NTP sync should work on my ISP who blocks 123 inbound.

    All ISPs in my country practically all, block all ports below 1000. They expect you to get a static IP (Those who are in a position to provide) if you want to open ports. Others simply put you behind NAT. Static IP comes with almost double the cost! Hence I asked this question...

    Good to know that ISP is not blocking in/out UDP Port 123. So there should be no connection issue.

    @Pezhan Did you check with your ISP if they block inbound/outbound UDP port 123? NTP sync happens on these ports and many ISP's for security reasons block such ports.

    My guess is that your router sends the request on source UDP port 123 and it goes to destination port 123 at NTP server. So server attempts to send the response back to UDP 123.
