    Just one last query... As both are have (assuming i buy WD) gigabit ports and i have wndr3000 as router... what kind of data transfer speed would be there between these two... or client.. as WD will be accessed from Qnap .. and i think that would be very slow any idea.. thanks for all your help

    Hello Tim, Thanks for your reply. This sound completely logical … though if you could suggest something with Seagate.. have bought WD before and that HDD only lasted for little less than year. Again thanks
