Unable to reach local clients after roaming

Thanks L&LD, I always run the same level of firmware .. Either the latest from Asus or all on the same Merlin build. This routing issue is always there, nodes drops all 2.4 after a while. And as repeated many times on this forum, I've done countless factory resets / manual config / turning...

[RT-AC5300] - AI Mesh - devices on 5GHz cannot see devices on 2.4GHz

When you move around the house and your GSM roams to another node, are you still able to reach your sonos? Wonder if your original issue is similar to what we are facing here : https://www.snbforums.com/threads/unable-to-reach-local-clients-after-roaming.62020/#post-560953

Unable to reach local clients after roaming

The last 2 AC5300 firmware updates (feb/mar) have been abysmal - it caused the router to have 100% CPU utilisation. (There are a couple of threads I posted on about this issue) So now I'm running Merlin on all 3 units. I must say the main router is WAY more stable - been getting uptime of >10...

Unable to reach local clients after roaming

Nope, the NAS is connected to the AC5300 node. And wireless clients connected to the Ac5300 are also unreachable. Does not look to be 86u specific. I had this problem when it was just 2x AC5300 running AiMesh - the Ac86u was a recent addition. (Now I feel I've spent too much on these devices...

AC5300 performance, high CPU (or not), and AiMesh

I don't have an answer for qn 1. But for qn 2, if you enable ssh, you can login to your nodes using their IP. Running the command top will give you the list of processes using the most cpu.

    RT-AC5300 Version 3.0.0.4.384.81625 - 2020/03/17

Guess I spoke too soon. The new firmware on my AiMesh Router doesn’t have high CPU loads like before, but the other AC5300 which is an AiMesh Node has the high CPU load on [mtdblock3] (as seen on TOP). I guess this is my push to try the Merlin firmware.

    RT-AC5300 Version 3.0.0.4.384.81625 - 2020/03/17

Took a leap of faith and installed this firmware update despite having high CPU loads on the previous version. It's been about a day, so far no high CPU loads :)

Unable to reach local clients after roaming

Yes! I have this exact problem and it's frustrating. Copying what i wrote on a diff post below. ... Aimesh routing issue I have, where devices that roam from one node to another become unreachable to devices on other nodes. As an example, my NAS is connected to a aimesh node, when my iPhone...

"unhandled level 3 translation fault (11)" on roamast

I have a AC86 as a aimesh node and see tons of similar kernel errors. I don't see the line about 'unhandled level 3 translation fault' but the other lines below roamast. Mar 10 21:38:41 roamast: determine candidate node [xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx](rssi: -61dbm) for client [xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx(rssi...

    RT-AC5300 Firmware 3.0.0.4.384_81219 & Let's Encrypt renew

At least a couple of us have been having high CPU usage ~100% after upgrading to the Feb 2020 firmware. Let us know yours runs after a day or so. Have a look at this thread: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/ac5300-performance-high-cpu-or-not-and-aimesh.62468/

AC5300 performance, high CPU (or not), and AiMesh

That's good to hear! I am tempted to give Merlin firmware a go. I wonder if it might solve an aimesh routing issue I have, where devices that roam from one node to another become unreachable to devices on other nodes. As an example, my NAS is connected to a aimesh node, when my iPhone roams...

AC5300 performance, high CPU (or not), and AiMesh

I have been facing the same high CPU usage issue since upgrading to the latest AC5300 firmware sometime last week. Version 3.0.0.4.384.81622 (2020/02/21) My current setup is an AiMesh with AC5300 as a Router + 1x Ac5300 node + 1x Ac86 node. I’ve been having other types of wifi dropping issue...
