Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

Sorry for the late reply. Nope, no USB on any of the router or nodes. As for RAM use, recently I've noticed something strange that I'm looking into. Seems one of my chrome TV is taking up quite a bit of the WiFi traffic. I'm looking for a balanced method for this.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

After turning off the wireless parts and minimized traffic on my AC86U, with the same downloaded firmware, my AC86U took in the firmware without issues. Turned wireless back up and everything is going well. Thanks for people's help. Thanks @Tech9.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

Nope! I saw the .w like @RMerl8n mentioned and went back checking. Re-downloaded, made sure I was in the right page, (https://sourceforge.net/projects/asuswrt-merlin/files/RT-AC86U/Release/), and back checked previous firmware extension for firmware names. All were .w. so I'm sure it's the right...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

Hmm.. I downloaded the AC86U with over 2700+ times downloaded and I have the .w file. I went back to check older files with the same .w. Did I really screw up? Or I'm understanding your comment wrong? I triple checked it too Meanwhile, I had a side question for you @RMerlin, if you don't mind...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

Thanks for the AIMesh information, I'll have to go through those posts more thoroughly. I have had no issues till 386.10 and only a AC86U node in AP. All the more strange for me. But I'm more interested in this AIMesh issue because of 388.1 on my AX88U unit. But thanks for the info and ideas...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

I do get the answer assuming maybe it's a wrong model firmware I've downloaded. I would have felt embarrassed if I did so and still mention it here. As I've mentioned on my first post, I've downloaded the firmware twice and in two different stations. I have had anti-virus software causing...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

Can you tell me why the AP nodes need to be in stock firmware and not Merlin? For that matter, I remember people saying that a Mesh node needs to be in stock firmware as well, but I never understood/seen a "why" it needs to be in stock mode. Thanks.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

I'm downloading the firmware for my AP mode AC86U. I dont think I'm that dumb to be downloading for a different model router firmware. My current firmware is 386.9 on this device and is running as needed. Thanks foe helping AND assuming I'm an idiot.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

I've downloaded the 386.10 firmware and tried manually uploading. However, it's not updating saying u successful due to inappropriate firmware? I don't seem to understand why. I've even downloaded twice from to different devices to make sure it's not a download corrupt. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I'd like to understand, why is it recommended that the mesh/AP node be on stock firmware? Thanks

I know, I know, you'll be asking me what I'm even doing on a forum like this right? Maybe you want me to just "get lost"?
