How reliable and stable is the RT‑BE86U (Wi‑Fi and Ethernet) compared to the AX86U?

Been using BE86U now for a year (updated from AX86U) Simple network setup with WAN cable to Fibre optic connection, 1 cable to 24-port unmanaged 1GB switch (distributes rest of house, including NAS) and WLAN. - so no mesh etc. One 86U is just enough to cover our 200 m^2 (ca 2150 ft^2) home...

Currently one major reseller in Finland has a good BF offers on the plus series models... 🤑 So thinking to update our DS412+ (4*3TB, raid 5) that after 13 years of use has just under 6 TB in use... Thinking to get 2 bigger HDD's (10 - 14TB) in our new system and use them in RAID 1. Now as...

DHCP Manually assigned IP not used

Well it's my wife work-laptop and she hates to restart it as has a lot of programs constantly open to do her job... So technically I can't out rule that she wouldn't have restarted (been to the office, even this week) her laptop. But I still find it strange as I did move other devices...

DHCP Manually assigned IP not used

Just noticed that a device I have manually assigned in the Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list isn't using the assigned IP, even though MAC address is right... Looked at assigned DHCP IP addresses under system log and noticed this one device on "wrong" IP-address compared to what I have...

Client list missing even currently active clients!

Well as said, the asusrouter.com maintenance page does not list all active clients. Typically my private phone on the 5 GHz WIFI network is not shown in any active client lists. Even other clients of household apparatuses appear to be missing... Has anyone else similar problems or knowledge how...

    RT-BE86U Ethernet issue?

Our RT-BE86U uses the 10,0 GB port for WAN (goes to fibreoptic converter) and in LAN-port 2 is connected an uncontrolled 24-port gigabit switch. All house wired connections go the through the switch, even NAS. Haven't had any of these issues discussed here...

Solved DHCP - listing of IP leases?

Is there a way to see a listing of all IP leases the routers DHCP server has currently distributed? Active or passive at the moment, but valid within the lease time. (Default lease time is 86400 seconds = 1 day) I at least would like to monitor every now and then that no unwanted MAC's and...

Asus needs a wizard to help users select a router for their needs...

Thx for your advice, the router (RT-AX58U v2) I have already bought for my neighbours. (Win 11 compatible and extendable if not good enough - so far no complaints. And there was a good bargain for it at the time...) My writing was now more about the need for Asus to have some helping wizard or...

Asus needs a wizard to help users select a router for their needs...

With a quite board selection of Asus-routers that at least on paper don't seem to have major differences, they sure would need a wizard to help users to find some suitable routers for their needs... Was recently looking for a new router to my neighbours (retired couple) that don't have big...
