How We Test Wireless Products - Revison 7

I think maybe you mis-understood me. ;) In the current Smallnetbuilder test environment, the three receiving antennas inside the shielding box are three vertical polarized antennas. So what I mean is that by having a router with also three vertical polarized antennas to "match" the test...

How We Test Wireless Products - Revison 7

Actually, Bonsai is raising quite good points. Back in the old days all routers were external dipoles, and didn't have MIMO. But now, more and more router manufacturers are choosing internal antenna designs (as that's what the typical user seems to like), antenna polarization is becoming much...

Amped Wireless R10000 vs. Ubiquiti AP-N - Better performance based on specs?

Both of them have 2x Transmission Power Amps and 2x Receive LNA's. You can't really compare Tx range and Rx sensitivity based on specs. When you have both Tx and Rx going on at the same time, the engineer needs to design it so the Tx does not interfere with the receive. Also, high Tx...

    3 Stream 450Mbs 5Ghz bridge - when?

we use notebooks with PCI Express to miniPCIe adapters to test 3T3R. http://www.allion.com/TestTool/ExpressCard%20to%20mini%20PCIe%20Fixture%20Datasheet-ENG.pdf We see about 270~295Mbps over air in a shielded chamber. Intel's 6300 and Broadcom's BCM4331 are 3T3R, however they do not...

    EnGenius ESR9850

You can try bigger antennas on both the DIR825 and the ESR9850 (repeater). Signal strength is influenced by 1. Distance 2. Physical Obstacles 3. Building Material used in your building (brick, cement, wood, glass, etc) 4. Other 2.4Ghz signals causing interference 5. Orientation of the antenna...

    EnGenius ESR9850

You have 192.168.0.1 on two devices. This will cause conflict. Please change the second ESR9850 (repeater) to 192.168.0.2
  9. J

    EnGenius ESR9850

In Repeater Mode, the ESR9850 will not have DHCP server function. You will need to set a static IP on your computer eg: 192.168.1.50 so that you can access the ESR9850 Interface.

Can the Second ESR9850 (repeater) get a stable/reliable signal from the First ESR9850 (router)?

    ESR 9850 + 7750 home network trouble

Both 9850 and 7750's RJ45 ports support Auto-MDIX which means it will auto-detect whether the cable is cross-over or not. So yes, you can use a cross-over cable. But you really just need a normal RJ45 cable. Connect Internet device (ADSL / Cable modem) to 9850 (WAN port) Connect from...

    ESR 9850 + 7750 home network trouble

7750 should be set up as follows: Connected to 9850 on LAN port. DO NOT use WAN port. Disable DHCP Disable NAT Set Static LAN IP in same range as 9850 Ex: 9850 (10.0.0.1), 7750 (10.0.0.254)

    EnGenius ESR9850

Oh.. did you try enable UPnP? not sure if that will work... but doesn't hurt to try.

    EnGenius ESR9850

I'm sure forwarding remote desktops ports is no problem for this router. Should be no different from forwarding any other port. Changing LAN port speed is typically not a feature of Soho routers. but if you want it, you can control it on it on the computer side.

    EnGenius ESR9850

The port forwarding settings you have should be fine. Don't know why it doesn't work for you. Maybe you can send your config file to EnGenius for them to take a look. I have port forwarding running for FTP, BitTorrent, RealVNC, eMule, IP Camera and Slingbox all without problems.
