    I run TP-link 5300's as access points and let my (was AX89X) now the 16000 do the heavy lifting of routing and all the blocking and crap. A single 16000 can't cover my whole house sadly so I had to do something like this.

    It was for me.. Merlin support. Faster to me and the gui is much more responsive. I just rmaed to a 16000 from a ax89x as well

    I'll be honest with you.. If your moving large video files around wired would always be best but it would be best to state how large we talking of a house and how many walls are between the two. Appliances and metal would also be a good idea to mention.

    Just wanted to say.. came from a RT-AX89X and I'm really enjoying the GT-AXE16000.. Especially because of merlin's support but also in general tbh. Also can't believe there was a larger router than the RT-AX89X lol.. When I opened the box it was pretty amazing..

    Ok, I can definitely deal with not having an SFP+ since I have a multi-gig switch with SFP+ ports. I wonder if they will let me jump to that. Guess if they would give me the option I'd even pay the difference if I have to. Thank you very much for your quick response!

    I put a ticket in for my RT-AX89X and they want to RMA it but they say they don't have any to ship me. So they are asking me if I want a "comparable" unit. Honestly though I don't know of an ASUS product that is "comparable" to this router. Can any of you think of any that has dual 10gb? So far...

    So.. just realized something... If I disable NAT acceleration then my QoS works with my locally hosted games/webserver/everything else with FQDN that has my WAN ip. Enabled though it breaks everything.. Strange.

    o-o I threw it on there and when it was flashing I read the file name again and saw it said AX89U instead of 89X and almost had a heart attack but it took it anyways lol

    Did you email the network_support@asus.com email or some other thing? Cause their front-line support basically was incredibly unhelpful.

    I reached out to the networking team for ASUS.. if I actually get a response I'll tell you and maybe they will help you to. I wonder if the email address I found is even still alive but it hasn't bounced back yet..
