Netgear R8000 Beta FW V1.0.0.102 Firmware

The Netgear Engineers are very interested in feedback and anyone willing do do throughput testing. YiFan has been very receptive. His email is [email protected]. This email is posted by him on the public reviews of the R8000 on Amazon.com.

Netgear R8000 Beta FW V1.0.0.102 Firmware

Of of the Netgear techs emailed me this this morning. Runny it all day. No issues so far. No disconnects from my device. It's fast. I want to see some added features but so far so good and Netgear seems to be listening to feedback.

    New Asus RT-87U

Yea I just found an article saying 3rd or 4th quarter. Trying the R8000 now. It's really fast (quicker than my N66U) and great range but a little buggy. 5G WI-FI ISSUES with my mobile devices and lack of built in scheduling. Would love to compare the Asus. Just have to wait a while longer.

Love the Netgear R8000 but one big issue for me....

Don't school me as a parent! This is not what this forum is for. I simply wanted to restrict access on a schedule. You don't know my situation and it's not for kids. If you bothered to read my post "FOR EXAMPLE...." just used that as an example of what I want to be able to do. Very disappointed...

    New Asus RT-87U

Does the 87U allow you to schedule the guest network on and off or schedule an individual's device's network/internet access? Unbelievably the Netgear R8000 will not do this. Sucks

Love the Netgear R8000 but one big issue for me....

I cannot believe that you cannot restrict access for one device on your network based on a schedule? For example you can't limit your kid's tablet to not have internet access based on a schedule. You can only block it completely or allow a device. Also you cannot turn the guest network on and...

    New Asus RT-87U

Excellent! Although I'd like the higher range, Merlin's work, the capabilities are more what I need. Thanks

    New Asus RT-87U

How did I guess you preferred Asus? ;-) You've had the 87U for a month now? Nice. I on the other hand with kids have several 5g devices running. Like you the important ones wired. I'm impressed with the Netgear but debating on returning for the Asus if I can find one before return time...

    New Asus RT-87U

Just curious Melin which do you anticipate better; Asus 87U or the Netgear R8000? I just picked up the Netgear to "try out" and it's way faster on my lan and internet access than my N66U.

Slow WiFi with RT-N66U and 374.43

I"m having the issue on my N66U that complete web pages won't load. Partial pages unless I refresh a few times. Never had that before. Can't guarantee it's .43 but it's irritating. Happening on wired and wireless devices.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 is out

Installed .43 over a clean install of .41 (BTW: .42 was horrible for some reason and went back to a fresh install of .41) on my N66U. .43 working stupendously so far. Thanks Merlin!

    Merlin xxx.42 & N66U wireless disconnects and......

Thanks but it was even on my three cell phones in the home; 2x Note 3's and one iPhone 5. Rolled back to .41 and so far all is working well. Something wrong .42 and the N66U.
