    Constant DDNS refreshes

I occasionally get constant DDNS refreshes also, same log entries as OP, AX86U on 386.7.2 and also on previous revs. I do use Let's Encrypt. Not sure what starts it; by the time I look the log is filled with them, 30 sec apart. FYI, I was able to stop them by just going to the GUI WAN DDNS...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Right, thanks anyway, I'm OK with 386.7, but if there is something wrong in my setup or environment that prevents upgrades I'd rather find and fix now. Sure I can wait and see what happens with 386.8, 386.9. or 386.10....

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Dirty upgrade 386.7 to 386.7_2 does not work on my AX86U. Router runs fine with 386.7, and FW upgrade process looks OK when started from GUI, but after “upload”, GUI shows only “please wait, applying action” forever. Router appears to go through normal upgrade process, reboots, LEDs all off...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

I added these lines to unbound.conf server: local-zone: "my_local_domain_name." static I believe this might prevent the upstream queries and force unbound to answer with NXDOMAIN? I don''t know how to verify this, but the log entries with log level 2 do imply this. [edit] actually don't need...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

Just getting started running unbound (and possibly Diversion) on my AX86U, 386.4 RMerlin code. Installed via amtm and seems to be working OK, but I have questions about what I am seeing, and I hope someone can help a new user :) 1. In the dnsmasq and unbound logs, I see a fairly high rate of...

    The rmerlin donation thread.

Great work, thanks, donated! Been using your code for quite a while, just moved to 386.1, works great. Will load it on new AIMesh setup. RT-AC-86U, soon to add RT-AX86U

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Been running my original RT-AC66U in AP mode with Merlin 380.70. Considering changing over to John's fork. A few questions: 1. is it worth changing if I only run AP mode? I'm hoping for a bit better wifi performance. 2. it is connected to my main router, 86U running latest Merlin, by...

RT-N66U manual reboot required after FW update

Sorry, my error, it has 8 MB jffs flash space, not total flash space. My AC66 has 32MB jffs. I interpreted your earlier message to say that 32MB jffs routers copy syslog, 8MB jffs do not. Maybe I got that wrong? In any case, my N66 does not not have any copies of any syslogs in jffs. Thanks

RT-N66U manual reboot required after FW update

Update - I was able to regain WAN connection with my remote N66U! Instead of just rebooting the router, this time the person I sent in powered off router and cable modem, waited 1 hour, powered both on at once, and connection to remote WAN GUI was restored! So I have to guess that reflashing...

RT-N66U manual reboot required after FW update

Ryansr, glad it went well for you. Did you get the popup warning to update manually after the update was finished (or the 3 minute timer expired)? I can't remember if my AC66 gives that same message, but a) the AC66 is my home router, so I am updating it via a local LAN connection, b)...

RT-N66U manual reboot required after FW update

Same here also - I only have one N66, but last 2 FW updates the router has not fully returned after flashing. Problem for me is that router is 700 miles away, and only easy access is.....via the router! WiFi controlled plug is nice idea, but if router runs the WiFi and is not responding...
