AX86U Pro - "block internet access" limited to 16 devices

Thanks for the videos. That's the best info out there that I could find, but still too light on details for a noob like me.

AX86U Pro - "block internet access" limited to 16 devices

I can confirm that the "block internet access" limit up is 64 in the latest firmware (3.0.0.6.102_34314) for the RT-AX86U Pro . Thanks for your help. I took a look at the VLAN functionality in the RT-AX86U Pro that is present in the latest firmware. As of now, ASUS has provided pretty sparse...

AX86U Pro - "block internet access" limited to 16 devices

Thank you for the links. It's great news that ASUS is bringing more capability to their routers. Hopefully someone will do a write-up or a YT video on a VLAN implementation using ASUS router.

AX86U Pro - "block internet access" limited to 16 devices

Thanks for the help. I will update to the latest factory the firmware and take a look. I've not previously used Merlin, so I'm just a bit intimidated by making the switch. Really what I am trying to do is create a VLAN of sorts in order to quarantine certain devices. But I don't have...

AX86U Pro - "block internet access" limited to 16 devices

My AX86U Pro will "block internet access" for devices that I specify. However, the feature is limited to a max of 16 devices, and would like to block access on 20 devices. Is the "16" a hardware limitation of my router, or is it a limitation of my firmware (3.0.0.4.388_24199)? Thanks!

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

From what I can tell, the devices attached to the GUEST network are NOT malfunctioning. Rather, they are repeatedly connecting to the GUEST SSID trying to get an internet connection ("auto-reconnect is enabled on the client devices). If the devices DO get an internet connection, there is no...

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

I've just answered my own question regarding the effect of removing the cycling (Auth, ReAssoc, Deauth) device from the network. I did so, and afterwards, the GUEST network again lost its connection to the Internet. So, it doesn't appear that my issue in post #1 was related to the "cycling"...

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

Back to the original issue -- does anyone have a view on whether this cycling of Auth, ReAssoc, Deauth could be responsible for the issue I describe in post #1 above?

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

I think this may be the compromise I go with, because VLANs seem like more complication than I want to get into. The real priority is keeping the main and GUEST isolated from one another. Client isolation on the GUEST network would be nice, but is contrary to having those devices all be able...

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

I just checked my router syslog and learned that a wireless printer was CONSTANTLY going through a cycle of Auth, ReAssoc, Deauth. I don't know why the printer was doing this, and I don't know if this contributed to my GUEST network internet connectivity issues. The printer was on the main...

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

So, it seems I can only get YazFi if I run Merlin. And it further seems that I can not run AiMesh, if I am running YazFi. Am I understanding correctly? If so, it's a bummer because Merlin/Yazri sounds like a good solution, but I really want to eventually run AiMesh so that my guest network...

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

Thanks, seems odd that a "beta" firmware that is 9 months old contains Guest Network Pro, whereas the one-month-old firmware I'm running does not.

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

That ASUS support link says: How to setup Guest network pro: Login to ASUS router settings page(WebGUI) and go to Guest Network Pro page: http://www.asusrouter.com/SDN.asp Click [Add a network]or [Guest Network Quickly build a guest network] to create a Guest network pro. But, when I type...

GUEST network internet connectivity issues - ASUS RT-AX86U Pro

a good "temp" fix for sure. If I'm not mistaken this issue is not limited to the newest AX86U Pro firmware. I seem to recall mention of the same issue with other ASUS routers and firmware.
