    I am still at 388.4, but when I try to retrieve the changelog for the new FW 388.5, the router returns a message "failed to find release notes". Is this the same problem that was found for FW 386.12?

    Dirty upgrade from 388.2_2 to 388.4 with an AX88U without issues. By the way, I can confirm that this wifi option (Protected Management Frames) has dissapeared from the GUI, but no effect noted.

    List of clients wired/wired doesn't update after a few days

    I have the same problem from 388 introducction (see muy post https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-388-1-is-now-available-for-all-supported-wifi-6-models.82084/post-821006). Refresh button does not work. My only workaround is to reboot or Connect/disconnect the guest Network.

    I think you were confused with the minor versión numbering (like 386.8_2 or 388.2_4 ), where only even number are used for final releases.
