    In fact, my XT8 has a buyer (a friend that can't afford a best one). I don't know if give tp-link a try (I do not like their slow update policy). My old ASUS N55U DSL, had 6 years of frecuent updates.

    I have been using a XT8 as a single router (only wifi), with almost no problems (some Samsung phones, but now are ok) and about 25 wifi devices. I think of changing it, but not sure what to buy. Any advice in an Asus router with AX known to have little problems? Thanks.

    Have you tried turning off "agile multiband" as I said? It solved it for me.

    I'm sorry to answer so late. I have XT8 and 9 Kasa plugs and a camera, and 2 Tapo plugs. They always have run smoothy, so if I may help you or share settings, please answer me.

    I have been using Asus routers for 8 years, and I have never ever done a factory reset prior or after updating firmware. I know it is an usual practice here (I do not understand why), but I have never needed it, because I do not want to enter all settings again (dhcp reservations, ports, etc.)...

    No problems at all here. About 30 devices, router mode (no mesh), smartconnect triband, 9 iot devices... Nothing connected in usb or ethernet, only wifi use.

    In fact, there are really "Pro" routers, as some Cisco, Ubiquiti, etc. routers. So, I thought Asus had created a really "Pro" line (didn't rememebered the "Pro" marketing label in XT12).
