Problems with ASUS RT-AC87R with fw 380.68

I have been experiencing random reboots as well, since about 378.52. I believe mine is related to the AI controls as I have them turned on to keep my kid off the internet all night since school has restarted. Over the summer, I didn't have any reboots besides the firmware update as AI was...

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

I really did like the AsusStor interface and layout. Qnap's virtual stuff, as well as the ability to do 16gb pushed me over the edge.

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

Just a quick update, I finally, after a couple more nights of checking and a few more demo runs(Why does Synology not have a live demo??), I decided on a Qnap. On the way is a Qnap TS-253A, with 2 x 3TB WD Red's, and a ram upgrade to 16gb(Simply NAS gave me the idea). I also purchased a third...

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

Update: I went back through the live demo's for both Qnap and Asustor this morning, and after really getting in and clicking all the buttons, the Qnap UI actually flows better than the Asustor when in deep. I still think the main screen is a little too busy, but it I understand how it works...

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

I did not, and just went and looked at it. Very nice but I don't need all the features that it has I think, any VM's that I setup to train on will most likely be deleted when I am finished.

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

No it's not, I have been quite a bit lax in backing up since I got some really big flash drives for free during my last PC upgrade cycle. As the data is also spread across 4 HD's currently, I just used the flash drives for longer term storage in case of massive meltdown. The CD was actually...

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

I have one folder that can change often, its the current years' F1 and V8 Supercar races in hd. Once I watch them they get deleted. My music folder has grown exactly 1GB in about 5 years....I'm beginning to feel like the only person that doesn't have TB's of data laying around :D About the...

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

L&LD, I am fully aware that Raid1 is not a backup. I have multiple flash drives and a cd or two, plus I will be adding an offsite backup for the most critical data, of which if I'm honest is about 15gb, maybe even less. I really want the redundancy of Raid1 for copies of the VM's that I run in...

Best VM Performace in a 2 Bay NAS is?

Hi all, Fantastic resource here, my crash course in NAS went much easier with all the info and reviews here. Many thanks! My question: I am looking for a 2 bay NAS, using RAID1, and supports 4tb in size(not tons of data) It's main purpose will be Server and PC backups, file storage, and...
