drives would absolutely be new, but the actual NAS can be refurbished. any thoughts on stores besides ebay of course. I want refurbished, not used.

MAAAAAAAAAN! I am reading the PDF on the 451. I really want this thing. I am loving how it can host VMs. The software is amazing.

the 451 is running around $1000. That is a bit high for me. I am still leaning toward the 420. Are there any reviews of it on this forum?

Thanks for the tip. I am not worried about bandwidth. I have Verizon Fios at 50megs symmetrical. I would hope that would be enough. Any suggestions on which NAS I should go for?

downloading torrents at 4megs is really good. I have a 50/50 connection and hitting 4 is on the high side. Performance of the NAS will have hardly nothing to do with download speed. it is 100% dependent on internet speed, seeders, lechers, etc.
