    Good Switch Advise Needed

I would like to buy a few 8 port switches. I don't need anything fast or fancy or new. But having, by chance, purchased a good switch I would like some more that are of a similar calibre. I have a bunch of devices on a fairly extensive LAN, mostly data collection and monitoring around the...

    Router with Guest Access

I am getting a little nervous about allowing friends, etc., to access the internet via my LAN. What routers would allow me to set up a guest network that allows no access to any devices on my lan? I don't want anybody to be able to find IP adresses (I'm using 192.168.1.* subnet) or MAC...

Just Had DSL Problems, Could My 68U Problem Have Been Related

The 68U was beauty, had the features that I wanted, esp. with Merlin's firmware. The 2.4G thing, although not a show stopper, was troubling for a rather expensive gizmo. I will get back to mucking around with routers... probably next fall / winter.

Just Had DSL Problems, Could My 68U Problem Have Been Related

Something on the carrier (Bell Canada) side was fixed. Not sure if it was faulty hardware or configuration or what. It was not wiring problems (ie,: no ped's under water, etc.), it was something in the local switchhouse or further up line. E4200 is a wireless router. DSL modem is an old Gnet...

Just Had DSL Problems, Could My 68U Problem Have Been Related

I just went through 3 days of problems, on the phone with ISP, trying changes on my LAN, etc., and finally found that there was something wrong with the carrier's (Bell) hardware. Last month I tried all kinds of things to get a 68U working properly and failed, so I took it back to the store and...

AC68U wireless connection issues on 2.4GHz

If you find a solution please report it back. I just returned a 68U because I could not resolve a somewhat similar issue. Thanks.

    RT-AC68U Gone, Next?

Absolutely did reset. I did the GUI factory "restore" or whatever its called and then did a manual push button reset and then after it stabilized from the reset cycled the power, just for good measure, every time.

    RT-AC68U Gone, Next?

If the store I went to had had an 88U (3100, right?) in stock I probably would have brought it home to try, but they didn't.

    RT-AC68U Gone, Next?

From what I have learned there is not "much complaining", however there are other complaints similar to mine. Everything that I tried indicated that the 68U was the problem. I was tempted to bring a replacement home to try, hoping that the issue was a hardware problem with the 2.4G radio. But...

    RT-AC68U Gone, Next?

Long story short: Bought a 68U, installed 378... Merlin fork. Great GUI interface, seemed OK but then started noticing ADSL drop outs. Updated to 380... Merlin fork, same. Noticed that ADSL dropped when a 2.4G device connected to 68U. Any 2.4G device, tried 3 different ones. Tried changing...

    68U 2.4GHz Problem

I believe so, I did the GUI factory reset and did the reset button as well, just to be sure. Manually re-entered settings.

    68U 2.4GHz Problem

Uhg! Loaded 380.57_HGG-FINAL, old driver. Same problem. ADSL dies instantly when a 2.4G device connects. Here is the log of a 2.4 connection, ADSL dies, reconnect: Feb 6 16:45:52 dnsmasq-dhcp[743]: DHCPREQUEST(br0) 192.168.1.41 1c:65:9d:55:50:70 Feb 6 16:45:52 dnsmasq-dhcp[743]...

RT-AC68U with serious 2.4G problems, would like to try your firmware. Old driver version, I'm told. Thanks.

    68U 2.4GHz Problem

I have been doing a lot of searching around about this problem, and although it appears to not be an issue with all 68U's, it seems that it is common. For you guys with more experience and knowledge than I, do you think that this will be fixed in firmware eventually? I bought it for other...
