Just switched to Merlin. Can't believe ASUS left (one of its) flagship routers on the backburner. Embarrassing. Did a factory reset before flashing just in case. Flashed Merlin. Factory reset again. (that dd-wrt muscle memory caution will never leave me. lol). Set everything up. So far so good.

Had the same issue on my setup (a single AX6000) with the IoT network. Disabling the Roaming Assistant in WiFi setting solved the issue.

Hmmm…turning off Roaming Assistant seems to have solved the issue. 👀 Weird. Never caused any issues before. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm running the official firmware: ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_21514 Set up no-ip myself. So far so good...but then again, it previously worked with ASUS DDNS until first WAN IP refresh. We'll see. I'll report back.

Gave up on Wireguard. Seems there’s some issue with DDNS not properly updating the (updated) IP WAN to Wireguard Went back to OpenVPN. All good.

I did all that. Something was off in the Wireguard's handling of DDNS->IP mapping it seems. Kept reverting to the last (known) WAN IP before the DDNS was initialized. Restared the router. Seems to be working OK (for now). I'll monitor it and report back if any other problems arise.
