Any performance advantage using Merlin with AX86U mesh system

I've always sworn by ASWRT since my networking needs have been simple. I upgraded from AC routers to an AX86U and AX68U (node) and use them both in a wireless mesh system. The reason I never bothered with Merlin were the numerous threads from more advanced users having a variety of issues as...

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

Yes I can understand that..I had originally purchased the AX68U on Ebay and after sending it in for repair, it was replaced with a brand new factory sealed unit that worked flawlessly and still does. And since the AX86S has better range, I'll put it up for sale since it was rock solid

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

I recently upgraded from the AX68U to the AX86S and couldn't be happier..far better coverage and reliable though I've yet to have problems with any of the Asus routers I've owned

    AX86uPRO reliability

Interesting stuff..I'd been using an AX-68U for the past year and snagged an AX86U and it's proven to be as reliable as the AX68 and gets FAR better range and throughput..

Question about AiMesh Router in AP mode

Thanks for the advice though throughput improved dramatically after it was set up..prior to this, the auto-connect feature on my Android phone never worked. I appreciate the feedback, regardless

Question about AiMesh Router in AP mode

I recently set up a wireless AI Mesh using the AX68U as the main router and my AC68P as the node (forgive me if I'm using the wrong terms). That said, the AC68P is about 16-20' from the AX68U. Using WiFi Analyzer it shows the AC68P with signal strength of -39 dBm +/-. Living in an apartment my...

Help! Unable to get Asus RT-AX86U Working

I had an issue with my AX-68U and after shipping to the warranty center I was sent a refurbished replacement which ended up having the same problem. When I returned it, I was shipped a factory sealed device which works beautifully..if possible, I'd recommend seeing if they will ship a new one...

    RX-AX68U Can´t change router's login password.

Just logged into mine using Firefox for Mac and don't have any problems. Since you didn't show the full firmware version was it updated to 3.0.0.4.388_24646 released in Feb?

How bad is the new AX57?

FYI: Amazon has the AX68U here: https://tinyurl.com/2blso4gg Or you can get a refurbished unit from New Egg for $109: https://www.newegg.com/asus-rt-ax68u/p/0E6-005X-004Y6 I got mine on Ebay so you could look there was well. Mine has been rock solid from the first day and improved when the...

    Why You Don't Need MU-MIMO

Wanted to thank you for sharing this article which shed light on a feature I knew nothing about. And as you probably know the default ASWRT settings enable all these features. Now that I've disabled all of them along with all types of beam forming, I'm finding much better throughput and range...

    RT-AX57 occasionally broadcasting hidden SSID

I live in a small condo complex and see numerous Hidden SSID's on Wifi Analyzer. Obviously a neighbor with a couple of tri-band routers..I just make sure to use a different channel to avoid interference..

IPVanish not working after Merlin upgrade

Thanks. Since Asus recently released an ASWRT update, all is well though it was working fine before the update too

    Release ASUS RT-AX68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24646 (2024/02/26)

Can only speak for myself, but the long awaited update seems to be working fine, though unlike most here, my needs are simple
