I couldn't get wifi working correctly on my AC68U either. Seemed to work on 5GHz after rebooting twice, but never got data connection to work at 2.4GHz. Went back to 56_2, too.

I have the same configuration (AC68U, Access Point mode) and had the same issue- no USB Tools menu, and when I went to the USB drive / media services / SAMBA share, the device shares weren't listed. I ended up reverting to 378.50.
