Regarding Amazon/Minerva , this worked for me. Now minerva only tries to make contact once per hour. Note that my router is off during a portion of the night which accounts for the time gap. Thanks.

My TP-Link wifi range extender constantly contacts:
a.root-servers.net
Diversion allows this connection and from research, there isn't a way to stop this activity other than getting rid of the device, however, this device works well as intended.
These are inexpensive and I have read good feedback on them. I don't have any experience with this manufacturer's products:

I am not using any of the filter settings under the Firewall tab. The screenshot is of DIVERSION with uiDivStats. I didn't test it other than entering character.ai in my browser and Diversion blocked it straight away. I suggest that you give it a try.
I haven't a clue what that site is.
