    Wireguard DNS leak

Another great suggestion! I had the same thought and was in the middle of testing this out when I saw your response come through. As you suspected...simply copying and pasting the dns code from wg-up to wg-policy did not produce the desired result. In my case it meant that I was unable to...

    Wireguard DNS leak

Thanks @ZebMcKayhan, appreciate this suggestion. I had avoided taking the plunge with Wireguard Session Manager since my setup is pretty simple (single client instance, no WG server), but it sounds like this may be the best option to solve my DNS leak issue. It's too bad there isn't a simple...

    Wireguard DNS leak

I had originally used OpenVPN but found the connection to be pretty unstable. Since switching to wireguard, my connection has been faster and rock solid. Anyone familiar with wireguard have any ideas?

    Wireguard DNS leak

Thanks for the reply @L&LD. As of this afternoon I am running the latest 386.3 Beta 1, but the DNS leak was a problem with the prior full release version 386.2_6 as well. I did see @shabbs discussion on the beta thread. My understanding was that his issue was tied to openVPN and VPN Director...

    Wireguard DNS leak

I've been happily using @Odkrys' implementation of Wireguard on my AC86U for a while now. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/experimental-wireguard-for-hnd-platform-4-1-x-kernels.46164/ Recently I've run into an issue with leaking DNS requests that I haven't been able to figure out. I've...

Wireguard Session Manager - Discussion thread (CLOSED/EXPIRED Oct 2021 use http://www.snbforums.com/threads/session-manager-discussion-2nd-thread.75129/)

Does anyone know if @Odkrys is still maintaining their wireguard code? Last update I saw from them was in early April and there have been 2 wireguard code updates for arch-based implementations released since then--most recently on 20210606...

News FragAttacks - implications in reality?

The latest ASUS firmware release for the AC86U does appear to contain a fix for this vulnerability. Based on what I've heard, the current version of Merlin's firmware (386.2_4) does NOT contain this fix yet. ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.42643 1. Fixed CVE-2021-3450, CVE2021-3449...

    Release New AC86U firmware 3.0.0.4.386_42643

It looks like the firmware page now lists a fix for the fragattacks vulnerability alongside the original 4 other fixes. ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.42643 1. Fixed CVE-2021-3450, CVE2021-3449 OpenSSL related vulnerability. 2. Fixed authentication bypass vulnerability. Special...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Thanks for these suggestions. I've enabled the duplicate ACKS filter and have gotten good results (only about +20ms) with bandwidth limits of 100/5. Not sure why I had to go all the way down to 75 earlier to see improvements. I did try lowering the upload to 4 or 4.5, but I found that even at...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Good point. I hadn't really played around with this before...just set my bandwidth limits to 85% of the nominal connection speed (120/6). Interestingly, I found that I needed to lower my download bandwidth all the way down to 75Mb/s in order to start seeing download latency close to +10ms...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Question about using Cake with Wireguard First off, big thanks to the developers of this cake-qos code! I have been running this on my ac-86u for a week or so now and I really appreciate having the GUI for easy tweaks and additional insight into the stats. I have noticed during bufferbloat...

    Router temperatures

Thanks for starting this thread and thanks to the many folks who have commented with helpful insight, ideas, and thoughts. In the hopes that more observations will be helpful, I wanted to share temperatures from my RT-AC86U before and after adding a cheap external fan I purchased from amazon...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

Temps on my AC86U are equal to or less than they were on Beta4b with CPU wait enabled. From my end it looks like Beta5 has definitely resulted in much lower temps than I was seeing on Beta4.

[Experimental] WireGuard for HND platform (4.1.x kernels)

Hi all, just an update to report back that I found an easy way to check the currently installed wireguard kernel or tools versions. opkg list-installed

[Experimental] WireGuard for HND platform (4.1.x kernels)

@Odkrys, is there an easy way to check which version of the kernel or tools is currently installed on my router? I see that you recently updated the kernel to v.20201221 but I wasn't sure if I was already running that version or not. Some googling suggested running this command: sudo modprobe...
