    Looking for FreeNAS experts

    you shouldn't need to install any drivers. Just set the LSI card up t use the drives as JBOD and use ZFS to handle your "RAID" stuff. Freenas has SMART monitoring you have to configure it to email alerts, etc however ive found that that works just fine.
