    Thanks everyone. I talked to Asus and Comcast and both agreed that the Arris tg862 was not the modem to use with my router. Asus said not to put the modem into bridge mode but to turn the wireless radio off. Comcast said that can't be done, that the only way to turn radio off is bridge mode...

    I just tried my second RT-n66u router and I am having the same issues. I have changed the cables. I have tried 3 different firmware versions, I had comcast put my Arris TG862 modem in Bridge mode. I am up and running with an old Linksys wrt54g On the Asus both of them had the same problem...

    I am plugged in direct to modem now and it all seems good. I haven't tried Linksys yet. I will have to wait until my wife finishes working. Thanks, john It looks like I should have posted in the RT-n66U forum. Sorry, I don't know if someone can move this or if I should post it again.
