    System log page auto-refresh hangs browser?

    If the log gets very big, it can look like the browser is hanging, I think. Just turn off auto refresh and it won't hang.

    You may be able to modify a script that already exists on either this forum or the add on forum. It's called chkwan. It monitors the wan connection. If it's down you can set it to reset the wan connection or reboot the router. In your case you could modify it to reboot your gateway.

    The GUI getting messed up is because GUI files were changed and the browser is caching the old file and didn't reload the new file(s). Usually happens when Javascript files are involved. As mentioned, using ctrl+f5, or Shift+ctrl+R, tells the browser to refresh/reload those files.

    If it does get an IP address, as mentioned, check the Mac address too. It may have a new Mac address where the ip would then probably be from a dhcp pool is defined. New feature in some operating systems is to generate a new Mac address each time a connection is made...for security.

    Yes. amtm comes built-in to the firmware. I just go into amtm and re-install all of the items I had installed before. I take screenshots of those pages that I want to before resetting.

    Another thing you might try is changing ChkWAN options. I think it has several options in addition to the ping. There are also a few other options to stop/restart WAN instead of rebooting.
