You may be able to modify a script that already exists on either this forum or the add on forum.
It's called chkwan. It monitors the wan connection. If it's down you can set it to reset the wan connection or reboot the router. In your case you could modify it to reboot your gateway.
The GUI getting messed up is because GUI files were changed and the browser is caching the old file and didn't reload the new file(s). Usually happens when Javascript files are involved. As mentioned, using ctrl+f5, or Shift+ctrl+R, tells the browser to refresh/reload those files.
This has come up before. Search for ChkWAN script.
I use it as the same thing was happening to me and I would just stop and start WAN through webui and everything would be back to normal. Since using ChkWAN, I haven't noticed when issues happen.
Here's the script...
If it does get an IP address, as mentioned, check the Mac address too. It may have a new Mac address where the ip would then probably be from a dhcp pool is defined. New feature in some operating systems is to generate a new Mac address each time a connection is made...for security.
Yes.
amtm comes built-in to the firmware. I just go into amtm and re-install all of the items I had installed before. I take screenshots of those pages that I want to before resetting.
To save and restore the manual DHCP reserverations, you can load YazDHCP from amtm. It's a customization of the LAN/DHCP GUI page. There's an option to save and restore the DHCP reservations. It creates a CSV file with the information. It doesn't save everything on that page. It doesn't...
Completely rebooting the router will, of course, stop and start/reconnect to the WAN. ChkWAN has an option to just stop and then restart the WAN. There is a corresponding command you can use through CLI/console to stop and restart the WAN connection. It's similar to you manually stopping and...
Another thing you might try is changing ChkWAN options. I think it has several options in addition to the ping. There are also a few other options to stop/restart WAN instead of rebooting.
I actually prefer updating the event scripts to run the ChkWAN script directly. That's also described in the GitHub readme.
By doing this, whenever the internet connection comes up, the ChkWAN script is kicked off and it starts monitoring the internet connection. When the router first comes...
Ooops. I misread the image or didn't look closely. I was thinking it was PPP setup but I see that that was the WAN connection type. Ooops.
What do the logs say. Any errors? Does this always happen? On a regular time period?
You mentioned that even though the GUI shows disconnected you...
I'm pretty sure NordVPN supports OpenVPN. Try setting up an OpenVPN client and see if it disconnects also.
I believe they have VPN configuration files that you can download to set it up quite easily. They probably have tutorial videos and if not them, Youtube would have them as NordVPN is a...
I believe this has been covered before. You can try searching the forum.
You omitted the lines of AMTM that shows the AMTM version and the firmware version. The most straightforward answer is to update the firmware.
I also had this issue. I had tried other workarounds mentioned in various...
It looks like you may have more than one issue.
Your first issue may be the internet status showing disconnected. That can't be a good thing. There may be some kind of issue with your ISP. I used to have occasional issues like this also. Setting up ChkWan fixed that for me. It may still...
