Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525

I'm running 2x RT6600ax in AP mode and mesh and have had no issues so far so I'm quite pleased with them.. but then again my needs and environment aren't very demanding and AP mode generally has less bugs (for the XT8 as well). The synology also has a fraction of the configuration options that...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525

well worst case scenario, the XT8 makes an excellent bridge as I've discovered! In good conscience I can't sell or give my XT8s away. It's really an odd feeling not having to tinker with the XT8s as I've dumped them for the synology as my APs. Been doing it for so long I don't know what to...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

I've had the XT8s since their release and they've had their fair share of issues.. wifi coverage of the synologies is better/faster and the support for a real guest network (network isolation) in AP mode was important to me... anyways, we'll see, no regrets so far. don't get me wrong, I've been...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

I didn't want to have to think about wifi anymore either and have replaced my XT8s with two Synology RT6600ax which seem stable so far after a week. [edit, have to say though, one thing i'll definitely miss is this fantastic community which is very active and adds a ton of value to asus routers]

    Best stable firmware for XT8

not through the standard UI in AP mode at least.....

    Best stable firmware for XT8

oho, I didn't realise synology had a new router (rt6600ax) out.. and it has support for VLANs just bought a couple, hopefully goodbye XT8?

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

7 hours uptime with hardware version 1, no issues so far.. we'll see.. but my scenario isn't very complex

ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.21617 (2022/11/21)

what boggles the mind is that the XT8 features in alot of the best wifi mesh router lists.. personally in good conscience I would never be able to recommend them. I guess it just goes to show that all reviews should be taken with a VERY BIG grain of salt.

ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.21617 (2022/11/21)

I'm starting to wonder about the hardware versions and if there's something wrong with HW Ver 1.0 (can be found on the bottom of the device). Personally I have Ver 1.0 . If Asus offers to replace the device it might be worth the hassle. dunno....

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware Version 9.0.0.4.388.21101 Beta Version (2022/10/27 )

ah, it's on the european sites... I think I'll just stick to whatever version I'm running (lost track already). Seems to be only applicable to the v1 hardware version of of the XT8, had no idea there were other hardware versions but not surprised....

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware Version 9.0.0.4.388.21101 Beta Version (2022/10/27 )

just a general remark, nothing to do with any version, i haven't tried the beta and am on 3.0.0.4.386.49873. RAM usage is not necessarily a problem per se.. it will will fluctuate depending on the options/functionality being used and implemented. it's when there are memory leaks and that there...

    Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.21099 (2022/10/03 )

i have to say, in more or less 30 years of using linux I've never seen the RAM behaviour you're describing out of the box. then again I've never had reason to think about how linux allocates memory other than tuning a bit to use RAM more and less swap.. I would worry a bit more about free...
