Asus rt-ac88u revert to previous firmware

A lot of additional errror/info msg's in syslog generated by new firmware , and devices in app showing as offline when actually working but I've always experienced that since day one. Not noticed any "issues" which would make go back a version but only been on it 2 days.

Release ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.43129

Oh that would suggest they haven't fixed it in later production runs then , pretty shocking

Release ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.43129

Maybe a new one won't have issue if they fixed it, mine is 3 1/2 years old. Good luck I've always found support about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike , post how you get on .

Release ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.43129

Had this issue on every firmware occasionally, a reboot returns the missing ports , suspect more a hardware fault , tho if some one can say definately doesn't happen under Merlin i'd probably switch.

Release ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.43129

Moving from the 384 release to 386 requires a factory reset , a dirty flash will cause issues.

    Release RT-AC86U Version 3.0.0.4.384.82072

Apparently not , you could block asus servers via firewall (not sure of any other impact on router) , switch to Merlin he doesn't auto update (n.b. Asus seem to switch it off and on when presumably they feel its necessary) I'm in the same boat , posted here as well since 86u and 88 are similar...

    Release RT-AC86U Version 3.0.0.4.384.82072

My AC88U has just auto updated overnight for a second time to 20631, I had previously reverted to 20490 as I was experiencing reduced wifi coverage and disruptions numerous times a day, WLCEVENTD reconnects every 2 seconds on an Echo plus which sits about 10 feet from the router and the...
