factory reset did fix this problem for me... running the 386.5_2 version on AX56U, now battling with AC66U B1 trying to add AiMesh node.

Haven't got around to it yet. Also, my webhistory requires a clear every couple days to function.

Guess I will have to factory default since I managed to even break the time scheduling while attempting to fix this.

    RT-AX88U Parental Controls

I'm having some problem with AX56U since 386.5 alpha2. Tried clearing a bunch of MULTIFILTER nvram settings and that didn't resolve.

Solved RT-AX58U DHCP problem - WAN gets new IP in every boot (3.0.0.4.386_41700)

Clone the MAC of the old router and I bet it fixes your problem.

Not each model is in sync tho. 386 has been out for a over a month for the ac68u. Still on 384 for ax56u.

I don't see how this would make a difference. That setting should really be "Append" not "Advertise" Moreover, using the router's DNS service is the behavior I desire, why would removing it improve the situation? Also, I believe windows clients will assume the DHCP server is also the DNS...

So I dug into this a little more this morning. To my annoyance, performing nslookup from the command line was performing 100% perfectly so I examined my connections on the router to discover that when I hardcoded a DNS server on the client, that server was being hit by my browser on 443 (DoH)...

Problem is, when it works as expected using clean browsing or ad guard it does resolve to a pretty access denied page. That is behavior I'm trying to get. I appreciate all the help and I wish I could identify some root cause. All the iptables and Nat rules appear in order.

192.168.1.2 is my router's LAN IP. My LAN DHCP DNS1 is 192.168.1.2 on the client side. On the config I have both fields blank and Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS set to Yes.

Here's the iptables command, actually looks fine to me: admin@RT-AX56U-BA78:/tmp/home/root# iptables -t nat -nvL DNSFILTER Chain DNSFILTER (2 references) pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination 0 0 DNAT all -- * * 0.0.0.0/0...

Just powered off my AiMesh node to rule it out, same issue. Oddly enough, client is getting DHCP hard wired doesn't seem to exhibit the same behavior, it seems to work... Maybe WiFi only problem somehow?

I appreciate all the help, and correct, stubby is because of the dnssec, my mistake there bad observation. Regarding the actual problem though, this is easy to reproduce, is it just me? AX56U: Set WAN DNS to something like Ad Guard Family: 94.140.14.15 Configure client to use DNS of...

Interesting thought, but I doubt it, since I can assign a service (manually, Clean browsing, ad guard) whatever via the DNSFilter UI and it works as expected, but does not override I don't think it is mac address related. I have a AC68U on 384.19 working on a different WAN and the big...
