Looking for Feedback: RT-BE92U stability issues

Makes perfect sense considering everything that is known about TM issues on BE routers. I eventually saw similar entries in stock firmware BE92U media bridge (less verbose output of course). Mar 27 17:57:24 rc_service: waitting "restart_wlcmode 1"(last_rc:restart_wlcmode 1) via psta_monitor...

Looking for Feedback: RT-BE92U stability issues

Is your AiMesh nodes connected via MLO backhaul? I have found MLO to be an issue on the BE92U router such that MLO throughput is much less than individual band rx/tx with iPerf3 testing.

Sorry that's still an issue. Documentation suggests that latest firmware resolves issues on the 2.4ghz band mostly. What HW version are you using?

For WAN status issues and connectivity delays after reboot, disable 4G/5G auto mobile tethering on the Dual WAN tab of the WAN section on the main page. Also ensure that your actual WAN is specified in the drop down. Even if you don't use dual WAN. I have found that with that the mobile...

Asus Router Not Accessible, No Access to LAN, Yet passes Internet

Following this thread with enthusiasm. Don't beat yourself up. I've been there. I too now have a 2nd router because of misdiagnosis. (Mine was a failing desktop NIC.) Worked in IT since the 1990s (retired now). When you've been at it long enough, you learn to forgive yourself. The up side? You...

Asus AEX16000E how to see CRC errors? WIFI and ETH?

You said that 192.168.50.8 is a wifi camera? Here's why you are seeing this. Are you also getting stutters when viewing the live feed on the camera? If so, here's why that will likely not improve much. No matter your efforts. The jitter you are seeing on ping is normal. It's caused mostly by...

    AMTM formatting and swap file

What does extended testing on the external drive show? Having issues early on in the mounting process implies media issues. Run a full overnight test. It appears that issues persist with the newer thread of: ubound cache not ticking up - it would seem that there are "ghost" issues cause by media...

Looking for Feedback: RT-BE92U stability issues

I was going to update with a kernel dump message after 14 days of uptime, with no impact to internet use but I see there is potential solution underway in test build that may address it. That being said it feels like Merlin development combined with ASUS revisions on the BE92U are moving in...

AiMesh - connect to closest node

The best move is to let the system handle itself. The "closest" node isn’t always the fastest or most stable for a device. If you’re itching to tweak things you can adjust the roaming threshold (dBm) or slightly lower the main router's transmit power to encourage devices to switch nodes. You...

Does this botnet affect RMerlin firmware?

Lumen owns my ISP and according to the article has already blocked it. Banned the IP of the script host anyway.

Skynet Skynet fails to start after install

This happened to me as well 2 days ago. Setting up new BE92U h/w v6.0 Merlin 3006.102.7 beta_2 from scratch. I can't remember the steps I took to get it working in the flurry of setting it up. I remember doing a restart via amtm but didn't have to uninstall/reinstall the product. I do remember...

Looking for Feedback: RT-BE92U stability issues

There is a HW v6.0 now. Have an RMA w/ASUS for my v3.0 and went ahead and got this one. I'm sure I can find some use for my v3 once it comes back (radio self-interference). About to set this up and test it with iPerf3 to ensure the interference is gone. (Merlin v. 3006.102.7 beta_2).

seeing random ssh/dropbear connection attempts from some local windows machines in logs

You "may" be able to track down the process ID on the suspect machine. This will have limited scope of helpfulness but on the suspect Windows machine open a PowerShell window with admin access and paste into prompt: netstat -ano -p TCP | Where-Object { $_ -match ":22\s+" } Seems like your SSH...

    Suspicious Entry in SysLog

Exactly. And sadly most people don't know you can skip past it w/Matter. 😔 Those companies want that precious user data.

    Suspicious Entry in SysLog

Yes, I was outlying the easiest path for him if he wants to keep using 2.4ghz WiFi and be as secure as possible. Switching to thread isn't for everyone. If he wants to keep using WiFi I highly recommend he gets all devices compatible with WPA3. I indicated Matter-over-Wifi devices for that...
