    Open VPN Configuration File Question

Yes, the OpenVPN startup script is in the same location on the R9000. Trying to decipher the script is beyond my skill set. Trying to understand where details to update the cert files originate. When the cert files require updating, does the firmware on the router have to be updated or do the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.13 is now available for AC models

AC68U, dirty update from 386.12 on an Ethernet connected PC using Firefox. All smooth. I am sorry to see this project wind down on this router, it has been a good run. There is only so much room in the bottom of my closet for old hardware. Need to reserve space for a new RT-AX88U Pro box...

Voxel Custom firmware build for R9000/R8900 v. 1.0.4.72HF

Using the snapshot update v 1.0.4.72.2HF, on my R9000. In the user interface, under the Advanced tab, Advanced Home page there is a Connection Status link under the internet port. This button usually shows a status window with connection IPv4 information. All of the fields are populated with...

    R7800 lost 5GHz SSID :(

I am going to take issue with your use of the word ALL. There may be an occasional iOT or other device that does not conform. You may have to power cycle this device or maybe even reset the connection. Your two R7800 routers definitely had two different MAC addresses.

    R7800 lost 5GHz SSID :(

No, stick with the non-DFS channel. DFS channel frequencies are where the radar interference comes in to play.

    R7800 lost 5GHz SSID :(

I do not know what channel you have configured for your 5 GHz band. If it is a DFS channel, a scan may be causing the disconnect or shut down. If you are not familiar with DFS channels, check out chapter 14 of this reference: https://www.wiisfi.com/.

    R7800 lost 5GHz SSID :(

You want to make sure the receptacle/power strip connection is solid. They do age. Do you have pets that could disturb the wiring? There is almost always a certain amount of network activity whether you are using your computer or not. How many devices to you have connected over Wi-Fi? An...

    R7800 lost 5GHz SSID :(

Yes, I do it on a regular basis with the various Xfinity gateways. Occasionally there may be the odd iOT device that requires a power cycle to re-establish the connection.
