    The most recent stock firmware from Netgear depreciates several "features". I use the term features very loosely. You can go read the notes with the firmware release. Firmware Version 1.0.2.82.

    double IP numbers with OpenVPN

    Just an FYI... I use an older Synology NAS and have no problems setting a fixed IP address for the device. In the configuration control panel, go to the Network -> Network Interface section and select LAN then Edit. You can set both a v4 or v6 IP address.

    You did not say if this is a long term requirement or what your bandwidth needs are in House 2. Installation of two Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M5's would work well. They are available from Amazon. An example for an IP camera installation here...
