How's the vlan support on the pro version? Is that well supported now in merlin, stock, or both? Also, I have an old non-pro rt-ax86u. If I were to put these together in a mesh do vlans work or would I need to have two pro models?

Anyone successfully recover from this bad flash? My rt-ax86u is out of warranty and so not RMA'able as far as I know. I didn't try the update and don't have the problem but I'm wondering, how does one switch between the alternate boot and image partitions on this router? Seems like it has them...

Given that your username is Gentoo and that you are using the 2.5Gbps port, maybe you are seeing something similar to what I've experienced. Bottom line: I get great wireless throughput with the RT-AX86u, just not when using > 1Gbps NICs in a linux host. This is really inconvenient for me...
