    Firewalla

Ok Ok thanks I will give that another try. FWG was not detecting anything plugged in last night though. I even set the FWG LAN1 to the same IP range as the AX88U but still nothing detected as connected....

    Firewalla

I also have a AX88U that I am trying to connect to a FW Gold. Did you use the WAN port on the AX88U to connect to the FWG or a LAN port? My AX88U shows all LAN ports as "Unplugged"....

Daylight Savings settings not working since 386.1_2 upgrade

Thanks Butterfly - hadn't seen that. Will check out the workaround. Cheers.

Daylight Savings settings not working since 386.1_2 upgrade

I am having parental control issues since upgrading to 386.1_2 but I can see the cause - just don't know how to fix. I live in Australia so I have Daylight Savings start/finish dates set accordingly. This allowed the system time to be set automatically to the correct time. Since upgrading to...

Parental Controls Not Working Properly for RT-AX88U using firmware 386.1_0 and 386.1_2

I am also having parental control issues since upgrading to 386.1_2 but I can see the cause - just don't know how to fix. I live in Australia so I have Daylight Savings start/finish dates set accordingly. This allowed the system time to be set automatically to the correct time. Since...

Stopping DNS over HTTP bypassing DNSFilter

Yes - as per my earlier post I am using Cleanbrowsing DNS service to block all the DoH hostnames. I think NextDNS has a similar list but you could easily create your own.

Stopping DNS over HTTP bypassing DNSFilter

As a short addendum I tried pinging the cloudflare DoH URLs. Totally different IPs resolve for this: Pinging chrome.cloudflare-dns.com [104.18.27.211] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 104.18.27.211: bytes=32 time=15ms TTL=58 Pinging mozilla.cloudflare-dns.com [104.16.249.249] with 32 bytes...

Stopping DNS over HTTP bypassing DNSFilter

I ran a few tests using: What's My DNS Server? As bbunge noted above DoH settings in browsers use a URL not an IP address. In the case of Cloudflare the dropdown is labelled - "Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)". This is misleading though since it actually uses the URL...

Stopping DNS over HTTP bypassing DNSFilter

Yes - this works. You are correct all the browser settings for DoH reference a URL. If you block the DNS lookups for those URLs it stops the browser DoH working. I ended up blocking them using my CleanBrowsing paid service (Proxy & VPN category inclded all DoH URLs). So I would assume...

    Failover WAN and DNSFilter issue

I have a USB 4G modem setup as a Failover WAN connection. My main internet failed today and it failed over to the USB modem as expected. However DNS stopped working. I have the following settings that I have setup to force my family through the CleanBrowsing DNS filtering: WAN DNS Setting...

My wireless radios were mysteriously turned off!?

There is a button on the front of my RT-AX88U to toggle the wifi on and off. I know because I pressed it by mistake when plugging in a USB drive the orther day. It is black and flush with the front panel so easy to press without realising.

Stopping DNS over HTTP bypassing DNSFilter

I gave this a try last night by importing that list into Skynet. It seems to work ok for those specific IPs but Cloudflare is much more challenging since the 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 addresses are only pointers to a very large pool of global servers. So depending on where you are located it will...

Stopping DNS over HTTP bypassing DNSFilter

Found a pretty good list of all public DNS servers: https://public-dns.info/ Would be nice to have a feature that queries this list daily and then updates a firewall rule to block all access and auto-whitelists any DNS servers you have specified in DNS WAN, DNS DHCP or DNSFilter. Maybe this...

Stopping DNS over HTTP bypassing DNSFilter

Good idea - I think this may end up being the most workable soloution. Is anyone maintaining a comprehensive list of IP's for all public DNS servers? Over time it with a bit of crowdsourcing this list of IP's could be complete enough to block all but the most committed person. Then you...
