Yes, I use the 5GHz-2 as wireless back haul. And yes, it´s a dedicated line, but I have (nearly) the same setting options as in the 5GHz-1 Band. I don't know why Asus is doing this. Probably if you want to use the device as a 3-band-router with a Ethernet-back haul.
