    YazFi IPCamsBlock.sh with YazFi ??

@bbunge, I am probably making it sound more complicated than it is. Was hoping @Martineau might see this post and offer some insight since he has first-hand experience with both YazFi and the script. Had not heard of zoneminder, but did a quick look. Might be something to look into a bit...

    YazFi IPCamsBlock.sh with YazFi ??

Asus RT-AC3100 with last Merlin FW for that EOL model, I have YazFi installed with most of my ESP IOT devices on YazFi guest 2 subnet. 172.16.95.xx I have @Martineau's IPCamsBlock script installed for VPN access to my IP Cams I have 2 ESP32 devices with Webcam output on the YazFi network...

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

To provide closure, YazFi is working well and my IOT devices are on YazFi Guest Network 2. I am attaching my final YazFi config and YasFi user script "iot_config.sh" which is located in /jffs/addons/YazFi.d/userscripts.d folder. In addition, I ended up installing the ntpMerlin addon with...

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

Making progress. This morning I noticed the "Addons" tab that was added after installing ntpMerlin was no longer showing on the Router GUI. Going into AMTM, no response when trying to go into ntpMerlin. Rebooted everything again and Addons/ntpMerlin showing back up but still no synch with...

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

@bennor, thanks for giving me ideas. YazFi does not allow leaving DNS fields blank, so was unable to try that. I have rebooted router and clients, again, no change. Regarding the clients, I am allowed to enter up to 3 NTP Servers, so I have 172.16.85.1, 172.16.95.1 and even some leftover ntp...

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

It seems I was a bit early in saying my problem was solved. As I started moving other IOT devices to YazFi network, the first 3 synched up to NTP just fine, but then I checked the next few and they would not sync. Same message from the device "No reply from 172.16.85.1". Then I went to one of...

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

Problem solved by going ahead and installing ntpMerlin addon. Did not really understand what this addon did vs the stock Asus NTP server, but it works with YazFi. One hurdle cleared . . . now lets dig into YazFi a bit deeper.

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

@CollinTaylor, you are correct as I am still getting the messages after taking those last 2 lines out of my user script and rebooting router. Just added a 2nd device to the YazFi Guest 2 network. Joins network fine but this device cannot get NTP synch either. Gotta be something simple that I...

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

Looking at Router log, I get the following error fairly regularly, maybe something to do with the NTP request. Jan 10 12:02:00 kernel: br0: received packet on vlan1 with own address as source address Going to take out the 2 rules for NTP in my user script and see if that message goes away.

YazFi 4.4.9 and IOT device NTP access

Asus AC3100 flashed with Merlin 386.14_2 and Entware. Running stock NTP Server via router GUI and set to intercept all NTP requests. Have many ESP based IOT devices with 3rd party FW presently on Asus Guest Network 1 (with intranet access enabled) and been working rock solid for years - but...

Replacing RT-AC3100 with RT-BE88U for ESP based IOT Network

@Ripshod. glad you are having success. I had my wifi config set with the same settings you mentioned. Are your devices flashed with Tasmota FW ? Are they ESP8266 or ESP32 devices? For now, I went ahead and returned the BE88U router. Will look in to upgrading again in a year or so.

Replacing RT-AC3100 with RT-BE88U for ESP based IOT Network

@Tech9, thank you for taking the time to read my post and providing solid advice. As bad as I wanted the new router to work for me, all the signs were telling me my devices were just not a good fit for it.

Replacing RT-AC3100 with RT-BE88U for ESP based IOT Network

Long time user of Asus Routers/Merlin Firmware. Currently using RT-AC3100 flashed with latest (and EOL) version of Merlin. My Wifi needs are simple, 2 phones, 4 Tablets, 2 Alexa devices, and 40+ ESP based IOT devices flashed with Tasmota firmware. PC's and Streaming Devices are all connected...

    ASUS RT-BE88U - WiFi 2.4GHz drop with "Deauth_ind Unspecified reason (1), rssi:0"

Update on my BE88U performance. After moving my IOT devices to main 2.4 network and disabling the Guest IOT - while things did look promising at the beginning, by the end of the day I had several IOT devices drop out and could not reconnect. I had to reboot the router for them to come back...
