Custom DDNS vs Drop Down List for Same Provider

@lukehjo, thanks for the reply. As you can tell, this whole SSL/TLS key and cert thing is confusing to me, but that is not a Merlin issue. I guess the "Free Trial" text still displaying after I entered my credentials for the FREEDDNS.AFRAID.ORG dropdown made me think I had gone down the wrong...

Custom DDNS vs Drop Down List for Same Provider

Please excuse if some of my terminology is incorrect. Have been using Merlin on AC3100 for several years, with DDNS enabled selecting "Custom", providing the "dnns-start" script as directed and using Crontab for periodic updates (registered my domain at Afraid.org). Been working as needed for...

Setting up 2 mac addresses to same IP in dnsmasq.conf.add

Your doubt that my device had more than one MAC address got me looking at my Android phone a bit closer. There is a Privacy setting that randomizes the MAC address rather than link up with the device's physical MAC address. So I was in error, there is just one MAC, but the phone kept changing...

Setting up 2 mac addresses to same IP in dnsmasq.conf.add

Long time user of Asus routers and Merlin firmware, but just a novice.. I just started using "dnsmasq.conf.add" for IP address manual assignment and so far so good. In the case of phones and tablets that have dual wifi (2.4 and 5) capabilities, they show to have a separate MAC address for each...

Solved Local NTP Support - Round 2

Had not thought of that, but don't think John's fork supports Aimesh which is why I went to the AC68.

Solved Local NTP Support - Round 2

Just swapped out a RT-N16 router with a RT-AC68U at a location that does not have any internet. Upon initial boot of the AC68U, it does not synch with my local NTP server running on a Raspberry PI with RTC even though I have the IP address of the RPi in the NTP Server fields on the AC68U. On...

https://pastebin.com/ufVG2nUt I am new to pastebin.com, but believe the link above should have my syslog.txt data.

ntp doesn't work with AC86u and merlin 384.19

For some reason, my attachment will not upload. When I attach it, it shows up with a line through it.

ntp doesn't work with AC86u and merlin 384.19

No joy. Installed new FW build and nvram commands. Rebooted router and still will not synch with RPi. Attached is the syslog file showing where NTP times out at 18:01:56. I set the NTP server 1 as the RPi hostname and NTP server 2 as the RPi IP address.

Thanks for all of your help. I will try this over the weekend and let you know how it works out.

ntp doesn't work with AC86u and merlin 384.19

I have searched the web and this thread is the closest thing to my issue. I have an ASUS RT-AC66U running John's Fork of Merlin firmware. The router is at a remote site with NO INTERNET access. There is nothing connected to the WAN port on the router. I too am using a Raspberry PI with RTC...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Getting rid of iptables on the RPi cleaned up a lot of clutter on my log files. Thank you for the help.
