Had the same issue (would not update) on a neighbor's device. The box from which the update attempt was being made was connected over wifi that had a weak signal. It was a laptop with no Ethernet port so I had him order a USB to Ethernet dongle. Once it arrived I hooked it up to his switch and...
This has nothing really to do with the topic of this thread. If you use the "Better Search" function above and search for "temperature" you will see there are many other threads where this has been discussed.
Here is the answer for your RT-AC86U - ssh into the device and run:

I've read the entire thread here and see good points with both views (limit thread length or leave as is). At this point it sounds to me like "leave as is" has left the station, which is the owner's prerogative after all. Personally, I like having access to all the historical technical knowledge...
Update blacklist fails from within menu with a curl error. I actually uninstalled / re-installed Skynet attempting to solve and no luck.
Any pointers?

Big decrease in Skynet inbound blocks
...after the recent entware updates. I did reboot after the entware updates. Inbound blocks went from several a minute to maybe 1 or 2 an hour. I don't think that many bad guys just vanished all of the sudden. Any correlation or just coincidence? I would...
Upgraded from 384.18_0 to 384.19_0 on all devices shown in sig. Only issue was a corrupted smbpasswd file on the 86U. Per find that file shows as living in /tmp/etc/samba/ but I formatted JFFS anyway, restored and rebooted. All is well.
Thanks to RMerlin for his dedication to this increasingly...
I have an AC86U as the main router and two AC68Us as Aimesh nodes connected with ethernet backhaul. I've been running this setup for about a year now and it has worked flawlessly. I do not use SmartConnect but I do utilize the roaming assistant found on the Wireless->Professional page. This is...
Network Map->AiMesh Node->(click on your node name on right of screen)->More Config
@Asad Ali is correct. Your post likely belongs in a different thread since it is not Merlin FW related.
When I set my aimseh nodes' backhaul to ethernet (both of them are cabled) they sometimes revert to wireless on their own. No clue why. But if I set them to auto then they stay on wired. Go figure. It works for me so I don't really care why. Also, you could try a different (new?) ethernet cable...
I for one am definitely using the dnsmasq log for some reporting. Since I couldn't find another way to watch my guest network activity I wrote a very simple little script to grep what I wanted out of dnsmasq.log. If this was available elsewhere then I guess I would not need dnsmasq.log anymore...
