Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.7 beta is now available

I would like for somebody to expand on this new implementation. Did the testing and when Prevent client auto DoH is set to YES indeed in the syslog you can see the following: Apr 22 17:58:21 dnsmasq[21191]: using only locally-known addresses for mask-h2.icloud.com Apr 22 17:58:21...

Current plans regarding separate version branches

It does not matter and will never have an impact on anything. Majority of routers never get updated simply because normal consumer is not even aware you can do it or how to do it. 80% will be bought and used the entire life span of the product with the firmware it came with out of the box...

Has Killswitch Been 100% Fixed for 2024?

I think 386.1 was where the implementation was changed to the new one with the introduction of VPN director so anything prior to that firmware release should work “the old way”. running firmware that old is generally not recommended since then there ware a huge number of security fixes in...

Has Killswitch Been 100% Fixed for 2024?

Short answer is NO - implementation of the kill switch is still the same. Killmon- ver 1-05 - this is an add on that you can install to improve the functionality. Longer discussion and explanation

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

Looks like this is a bug that is currently present in Merlin and official ASUS firmware. Based of a newer GPL releases information from ASUS /388.23012/ for some models this should be fixed in the next one… with some other security and bug fixes:

    ASUS GT-AX6000 $229

just one question for Asus - WHY??? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    I'm new - router recommendations?

As far as regular US Pricing goes taken from asus website the GT-AX6000 is 329 and AX88U Pro is 349. With that pricing and from those options i would get the 88U Pro. However considering that the AX6000 price now is 259 this makes it the obvious better deal. They are extremely similar so that 90...

RT-AX88U Build 3.0.0.4.388.22237 Broke many things

New version came out so might try and see if it resolves your problems https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ax88u-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-388-22525-16-02-2023.83594/

    Asus RT-AX88U Pro

Perfect example in my opinion that not everything new is better. Especially for the past couple of years I see a lot of “new” or updated tech that doesn’t make any sense and you pay more money but get less or worse of a product.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 is now available for select models

Wan and lan performance improvement is predictable based on faster ports… real question is how the WiFi performance is compared to the Ax86U? Kinda curious if it’s the same … improved or worse

Solved Trying to decide on a ASUS AX router

Shouldn’t be an issue… lots of users run different versions of firmware on the main router and nodes
