    I transferred a 3 gigabyte file this morning and got a stable 15 MB/s. I'm very happy with the new wifi speeds.

    Fixed the issue I bought a Netgear AC6300 router with a Netgear AC USB adapter and that fixed everything. Now I'm transferring files to and from my NAS wirelessly between 8 and 10 MB/s. That is much more usable. I guess the wireless N networks just aren't made for transferring large files...

    I'm new to building a home NAS. The current Zyxel NSA 320 that I have isn't really cutting the mustard. Therefore, I'm thinking about building my own NAS for 600 GB of pictures, movies and music of which I would like to stream to multiple laptops and tvs at the same time should the need be...
