Well, oddly enough, although I have set the router to refuse the connection of the dishwasher to the 5 GHz band (Wireless -> Wireless MAC filter, set the filter mode to reject, added the dishwasher MAC address), I can still see it connected to the router using that band.
Other odd thing, I have...
I am convinced it is not Asus' interest to do that. My point was if I had some programming skills what parts of the 386 code & binary blobs I had to use in the 3004.388 code to make it work on the RT-AC86U.
I am sad to find out my Asus RT-AC86U will not receive any update. Both RT-AX86S and RT-AC86U have the same CPU, a Broadcom BCM4906. I wonder what it takes to adapt the 3004.388 firmware (currently running on the RT-AX86S) for the RT-AC86U.
Thank you. Blocking the device from connecting to a specific band worked. I am still interested to know where the culprit was: on the router side or on the device side. The dishwasher is a Bosch one and I haven't found many things about the embedded computer. Consequently, I don't know if I can...
Hi.
I have searched in this forum, on the Internet and I have even used ChatGPT to look for the solution but I haven't found one.
The setup looks like this:
Router: ASUS RT-AX86S using the Asuswrt Merlin version 3004.388.8_4.
I have set the same SSID for both bands in the regular Wireless...
Hi.
I have a RT-AX86S router with the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware (version 3004.388.8_4) and a computer connected to the first ethernet port of the router. It wasn't my intention to connect it there, it just happened. In the Network Map page, when I click on the View List and group the devices...
Thank you. Is the smaller size of the 32 bit binaries the only reason ASUS has chosen to use this mix (64 bit for the kernel and 32 bit for the programs)?
Hi,
I have tried to build the ASUSWRT Merlin firmware from sources for the RT-AC86U router using the docker image. The build was successful, but there's one thing that intrigued me. I haven't watched the entire build process, but the pieces of software I've watched building were using...
