Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I'm also having this issue. Control D with DNS-over-TLS (DoT) was working fine under 386.7_2 on my GT-AX11000. Under 388.1 it no longer works. I will downgrade back to 386.7_2 shortly unless anyone has a solution to share. All of that said, many thanks to @RMerlin for adding WireGuard support...

More Easily Enable/Disable VPN Director Rule

Whoops, I somehow didn’t see the more recent posts here mentioning that command. Apologies. Adding service restart_vpnrouting0 did the trick! Do I need /jffs/scripts/service-event restart vpnrouting0 too? It seems to be working without it.

More Easily Enable/Disable VPN Director Rule

sed is working perfectly to make the 0/1 changes in the file. And I can easily trigger the changes via SSH in Shortcuts from my iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, which is awesome. However, the changes in the file don’t take effect in terms of how the VPN rules behave. I think clicking the Apply...

More Easily Enable/Disable VPN Director Rule

I don’t think this question has already been asked here from my searching. Apologies if it has. I live abroad and have a VPN Director rule in Asuswrt-Merlin that must be enabled for me to access some content and disabled for me to access other content. So, I am constantly going into the web...

M1 iPad Pro Dropping WiFi Constantly

My understanding is that my ASUS routers and ASUS extender have a second 5GHz network used just for the backhaul communication. Either way, I am very happy with the stability and speed now.

M1 iPad Pro Dropping WiFi Constantly

In case it matters for anyone dealing with a similar issue, adding the Asus WiFi 6 AiMesh network extender has completely solved my problems. My theory remains that the 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro was the only device able to get 5 in that bedroom, but it was a very precarious connection that dropped...

M1 iPad Pro Dropping WiFi Constantly

I suspect what is happening in my specific case is that the bedroom has a lot of obstacles between it and the WiFi router. So even 2.4 with an extender may have better speed and latency than the current 2.4 there. If the extender can also make 5 work well in the bedroom that’ll just be gravy.

M1 iPad Pro Dropping WiFi Constantly

I take your point about 2.4 perhaps being all I need. But, I still wonder if the extender would help make 2.4 faster or more stable in the bedroom. I would also like to get any benefits of 5 when the iPad is nearer the routers. I do see speed and ping improvements when testing on 2.4 in the...

M1 iPad Pro Dropping WiFi Constantly

I have an 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro, so it’s pretty beefy in terms of processor speed and supports WiFi 6. I’m also doing video chats with people half way around the globe, so I want any networking edge I can get. I have run speed tests on the IPad on 2.4 in the bedroom and 5 standing outside the...

M1 iPad Pro Dropping WiFi Constantly

I now realize that all WiFi devices in that bedroom have been using 2.4 rather than 5. My working theory is that the 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro is the only device able to get 5 in that bedroom, but it is a very precarious connection that drops often. I see that Asus makes a WiFi 6 AiMesh network...

M1 iPad Pro Dropping WiFi Constantly

I have a 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro and two Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 WiFi routers running Asuswrt Merlin 386.2_6 with AiMesh. I have an issue with the M1 iPad Pro dropping WiFi. I know the WiFi code is Asus closed source. I would still deeply appreciate any advice anyone can offer, especially if...
