    QVR PRO setup-minimize data usage/storage

Greetings. I don't mind Surveillance Station except I have 5 cams I'd like to use and can't buy additional licenses anymore for SS. I tried QVR Pro, on it's own volume of 1 TB. Away from home once I used the phone app to start recording and the volume filled up in no time at all...

    AX-88U Phone application

Hello, A lightning strike took out the wan port on my AC-86U so I picked up an AX-88U (refurbished). The Asus router application for phone doesn't work with it, someone recommended the Asus Expert Wifi app, but that doesn't work either. Is there any phone management app that works with this...

    RT-AX88U wireless camera won't connect

Hello. So, a lightning strike took out my two routers (RT-AC88u-WAN port disableld), and (RT-AC68u- 2nd LAN port disabled), AND my Arris internet modem, AND the LAN port on my damn laptop, AND both input ports on my HP monitor. All connected to either battery backup or surge protector. I have...

    Strange cooling/power issue

No need, the problem has been solved. I had tried a battery operated fan and it was fine.

    Strange cooling/power issue

Apparently the fan can cause issues. I plugged it in in the bathroom, away from the router and Homerun, and sure enough, it disrupted the TV signal but not as severely. Why would I service/replace something that isn't broke? Temperature issues are common on this router, be glad you don't...

    Strange cooling/power issue

The Shield has the HD Homerun app but I don't like it, preferring to use the native Android TV app, or my Plex server. When I tried the Homerun app on my PC it didn't change anything. I did pull the below from the Homerun forums in response to another person with the same issue. I found it...

    Strange cooling/power issue

My thought as well but I'll try anything at this point. Once I get the tuner working again after firmware "upgrade" I'll try moving it to the node....

    Strange cooling/power issue

Thanks for the tips. Router has always run a bit warm, and always has the latest firmware. To make matters worse, I just upgraded the firmware on the Homerun and now can't tune anything, good Lord.

    Strange cooling/power issue

Right now it's connected to the USB 2 port on the router. I had previously tried USB 3 as well. It doesn't matter where the fan is plugged in, I've tried other nearby USB ports as well as direct connect to different wall outlets. The Homerun is hardwired to a switch. I tried direct...

    Strange cooling/power issue

Edit- I looked up "homemade farraday cage", lined some aluminum foil with saran wrap, and wrapped the Homerun in that. Still no joy....

    Strange cooling/power issue

Greetings. My RT-AC86U typically runs around 90 degrees C. As it's warmed up and gotten hot and muggy outside, it's started running at 95c. I put a USB fan in back to blow over the vents and got it down to 63c. However, I have an HD Homerun connected to the router. (HD Homerun is a device...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Not a big deal but thought I'd mention it....I went from Merlin 384 to Asus stock 386 and for the first time I was seeing my modem listed in the network map. Dirty upgrade to Merlin 386 and it's not there anymore. Updated both RT-AC 68P node and RT-AC86U main. Thanks Merlin, excellent work.

Thanks, I missed that one :)

    System log items defined

Greetings. Is there a manual somewhere that provides definitions for line item events that appear in the system log? So I can understand things like "dnsmasq-dhcp" or "wlceventd: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(481)" and such so I don't have to search every time I want to understand what it's...
