    Probably should start a new thread but ... I noticed that even though I have remote access disabled, that I can still access my router from the mobile app from outside my network. Is this by design? Can it be disabled?

    Since you have the XT8, are you having any problems with stability? Does anyone know if ASUS is trying to data mine DNS queries in the name of "security" for the monitoring "features"?

    Has anyone found an open source firmware for the Asus XT8? Something like : https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/download - currently though the RT-AX95Q / XT8 is not yet supported. XT8 CPU : Quadcore 1.5Ghz Broadcom BCM6755 I would contribute but need a tutorial for up a development environment...

    I did... not looking for "tier1-helpdesk-support-work-around" but a root cause fix / update from ASUS :) I am looking for assistance with finding the root cause. Seems with my ISP's PPPoE connection causes maybe an issue with DNS / named / BIND and causes an issue with filling up file system...

    Yes, I was looking for a separate guest network isolated from LAN clients entirely. I guess I misunderstood the feature.

    I updated as well and am having stability issues. Router actually becomes unresponsive and has to be power cycled. I have a ticket open with support. Any hint on tracking down issues?

    I did reboot. The problem here is that the nvram settings get reset back to default also. Clearly I am missing a step or using the wrong command. Do you have to save the settings somehow? Is it even possible to set? The web interface doesn't give you an option to isolate guest networks but...

    I attempted nvram set wl0.1_ap_isolate=1 nvram commit nvram restart After setting ap_isolate, I was still able to access other hosts on the LAN. Is there another utility that I should be using?
