Does Turning on IPv6 Native negate / overide all that if your ISP provides you a IPv6
Trying to understand how to lock things down for both for torrents and bitcoin trading.
Does Turning on IPv6 Native negate / over ride all that if your lan clients have IPv6 addresses?
Okay I think I screwed up and I only added IPV6 DNS servers to my DoT list instead of IPV4. Then I turned off IPV6 support because of security concerns.
I had wifi drops on AX86U and I have never used YAZF.
The only script I've used is Diversion prior to fw upgrade and is not on the router as I've been trying to sort the wifi issues so I reset everything and cleared jffs multiple times.
I have a simple set up and I recently did a firmware upgrade from 386.5 to 386.7 and then back because of wifi disconnects.
After a bunch of changes I did a reset and reconfig. And thought all was well but then turned on DNS over TLS strict and added the primary and secondary cloudflare ip...
I essentially have come to the same results with my RT-AX86U.
Upgrading from 386.5 to 386.7 resulted in intermittent Wifi drops that I could not find a resolution for.
Also with the upgrade I had slow Instant Guard performance.
Went back to 386.5 did a reset, manually configured and all seems...
First time running Asuswrt-Merlin but kind of familiar since I ran johnsfork on RT-N66U for a long time.
So I upgraded to a Arm based router, the RT-AC68U and this is my first go with rt-Merlin 384.12.
After getting everything setup, my first question is regarding the USB display on network...
Also had to put all my music closer to the root of the drive.
Seems that the router makes a /tmp/mnt/path to media....... a couple more layers to the database that minidlna could not handle. Its funny cause it worked the first time like a charm then after a reboot everything went to ish.
Not sure if it we are experiencing the same thing but I to have a couple SATA3 drives that I'd like use to serve media around the apartment. So I plugged my powered USB 3.0 docking station up to the my RT-N66R and everything worked kind of fine. I think I was changing some settings and...
I am using 34E3 on my RT-N66R.
The only other thing I have running on it is Diversion ad blocker.
I did however notice the GUI in System Logs / Port Forwarding is bugged.
I'm using an android 8.0 Galaxy S9 running both OpenVPN clients Connect/For Android.
Maybe I will try and downgrade my FW.
I tried the suggestion of setting inactive to 360 seconds but it did not help.
I think my description was not accurate since I didn't exactly observe the disconnect.
After trying inactive setting, I monitored my VPN client and observed the VPN disconnecting on its own after about 5 minutes...
Okay I will try that
Thanks for all your work.
I've been tinkering with this router for a few years now (refurb really lasted this long, lol).
Went from DDWRT to Tomato now Merlin on various routers.
Keeps my mind exercised.
If you don't use it you'll lose it.
Hello All,
Having a little trouble with the Openvpn server on a RT-N66 device. The problem seems to be the connection remains open after the client goes idle and disconnects from the client side. When I try to reconnect the server does not respond. When I check the server it says the client...
