    Looking forward to 384.17 that "hopefully" will contain this update also. This WiFi issue is been for some time on the 86u. If you want to benefit from the current version 384.16 you'll need to disable smart connect and fix channels to a value to suit your environment (i.e. dont set to auto)...

    for me disabling smart connect and then setting a control channel for 2.4g and 5g wireless rather than setting to auto fixes it. with either smart connect or control channel set to auto devices get disconnected and have to be forced to reconnect or by rebooting the router.

    RT-AC86U dropping 2.4Ghz devices

    Have experienced the same and it's played havoc with IOT devices and home automation. Last full reset and manual re-config with 15, now running 16 and the only way devices remain connected is by disabling Smart Connect. Does that work for you? My understanding is that Merlin has not made...
