You can go to http://routerlogin.net/debug.htm and view the CPU load, along with memory usage and more for the R7800, and I assume on the R9000 a well.
We will find out soon. Over on Netgear's Facebook page today they are teasing a product announcement on Wednesday, October 19th next week.
Also, the two threads over on the KoolShare.cn Forum that I used as a source for my last posting in this thread have been removed at the request of Netgear...
Since my original posting, I have been looking all over the web for more information on the Netgear R9000. With the help of Google Translate, I found some over at the KoolShare.cn Forum.
Apparently the pre-production model had an active fan for cooling, but has been removed from the production...
That is the R8500 casing design used in the European market. I believe the author of the article you linked to is from France. You can see this design used in the marketing video from Netgear that is linked to on the product pages of the European countries:
As I do from time to time, I browse through FCC filings to see what is in the pipe. It looks like TP-LINK Talon AD7200 will have a rival model soon from Netgear. Most of the Netgear R9000 filing is confidential, but based on the label in the filing we know the model name, model#, it has 2 USB...
A few days ago Netgear updated the EX6200 wireless extender product page and added the EX6200v2 support page.
The EX6200v2 hardware revision of the EX6200 wireless extender now offers MU-MIMO and is powered by a “quad core processor” versus the Broadcom “dual core processor” offered in the...
I do a manual "update now" check weekly on the Dynamic QoS database file on my R7800. The last check I did was on Sunday when I first replied to this thread. At that time, it was using a March 2015 dated database. I just did another check and the database updated to version 3.0607.cloud-g0 with...
@Killhippie: Streamboost is not built into the QCA hardware, but a software solution integrated into an OEM's firmware.
As for the R8000 & R8500; I am aware they are BCM based units that do not have the development behind the Dymanic QoS (iQoS for the BCM units) used in them as they QCA...
It is a Netgear thing (just see this thread I posted from Feb 2016). Sadly Netgear does not stay on top of their Dynamic QoS database updates like other OEM's do that use Qualcomm's Streamboost tech (ie- Zyxel, TrendNET, D-link, etc). Netgear is even worse when it comes to the Broadcom iQoS...
While it did take many, many (I really could add a 3rd "many") months, the only resolution Netgear saw to the case was to replace my two R7500v2 units with R7800 units as firmware development for the R7500v2 was "not going to happen." I got my 2 replacement routers this week via FedEx.
While Zyxel has yet to issue a press release, the Armor Z2 (model# NBG6817) appeared a few days ago on its site for Home Routers.
Zyxel on the product’s page touts its premium casing design with a “metal look,” and optimized “4 inlet / 4 outlet air flow” design to let cool air circulate through...
Here it is June 25,2016 and my support case opened in February 2016 is STILL open and unsolved. I submitted debug logs again back on June 2nd, and I have followed up twice about any updates. All I get back is, "be advised that our engineers are currently reviewing the debug log which has been...
Thank you for sharing. I saw this earlier today. When you go to update from the router's web GUI it does also say "other bug fixes" as well. That is nice Netgear, but what are those bugs that were fixed?
