    There is no problem with using the powerline gear before the router, but you cannot use it before the modem...:) This should work fine: Wall - Modem - powerline --------------- powerline - router - the clients

    I assume that the DSL modem is up to the speeds of your DSL line (and that if you order a DSL line that is faster then what your current modem is capable of, Verizon will send you a new one) and therefore there is no point in upgrading it, regardless of what equipment you hook up to it... So...

    Yeah... You cannot (to my knowledge) use both bands with one client - you have to choose... Dual-band is more useful if you have several clients.

    Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato or DD-WRT firmware! If you only need a G-router, this is THE router to buy! Super stable! How fast is you Internet connection?
