Thanks for the suggestions. I checked on the auto settings and the radios are set to high power and there are some APs using the same frequency. I’ll try some manual tweaks to spread out the channels and adjust the power down. I did notice some sticky clients so we’ll see if some small changes help
Yes sir. The sleek UniFi APs are way more tolerable for the Mrs. than the Asus routers I had scattered about. She always wanted to hide them behind stuff in the same way she turns up the radio in the car when it's making a noise she doesn't want to tell me about...
My express 7 devices are in locations where it won't really matter (office and basement). Being able to turn off the LED ring on the U6 mesh was way more important for me, as that one is in a bedroom.
I don't see any options to change the screen behavior on the Express 7. For reference I went to the U6 mesh and I can see how to change the LED color and brightness. I cannot find anything similar for the Express 7...
During the transition I also upgraded to Verizon Fios 2gbps plan. I never intended to keep it, just try it over the holidays and then return to 300 gbps speed. The main reason was is I wanted Verizon to upgrade my very aging ONT to the latest version and they also switched my connection to the...
I posted elsewhere in the fall that I was starting the switch from an Asus mesh setup to a Unifi setup. I started with a Cloud Gateway Ultra as the router and kept the Asus AX devices in AP mode until I could get some Unifi APs. That let me learn how to use the Unifi OS and research which APs I...
Perhaps the day your internet speed decreased a new power user went online in your area. Or some other change outside your walls, like they added some new branches off the lines that go to your neighborhood... Since you checked all permutations inside your walls and found nothing, it’s the only...
sorry, the cloud gateway ultra is acting as my router only. The Asus APs are in a mesh controlled by Asus firmware/app, set in AP mode. My goal is to replace the Asus APs with Unifi APs so the Cloud Gateway Ultra can manage everything.
I noticed this limitation on my 92u as well. I just roll with it. Ironically I recently bought and installed a Cloud Gateway Ultra, which I love. This is for my home network in a 2 story colonial with finished basement. I don’t have any UniFi APs yet so am using my Asus ax92u and ax86u in AP...
If I use my AC 1900p as a mesh node, does it still make sense to do the factory reset after the update? In my limited understanding of networking I tend to think of the router as the point of vulnerability. Am I thinking about this wrong?
On my AX 92u I have a lan port that does the same thing to connected devices. It limits the speed to roughly 100 Mbps up/down. I can switch my pc to one of the other lan ports and it works normally 300/300. Does that model have a 1 gig lan port as well that you could try? I believe you can...
Although I initially had issues, when I reinstalled this version this weekend it seems to be running great since. This is a mesh node and is using Ethernet backhaul, opening up all three bands for clients…
