Well I know you all have been waiting anxiously for this news <sarcasm> so an update:
It's been 24 hours now that my network has stayed up and running without a reboot; first time that has happened in a week. So it seems the modem reset and/or some combination of the scripts I ran on the...
Took your suggestion. Contacted my ISP. Wasn't overly impressed with the tech support but went along with it anyways. I was suggested to Reset the Cable Modem interestingly enough. So I did that and after it restarted and I got back logged into its GUI again, the modem's log was obviously...
@ColinTaylor Thank you for the insights.
Is this something that indicates my cable modem needs to be restarted? Perhaps I'll do that regardless while I'm here. I've attached the only log entries I can get from the cable modem.
@drinkingbird I like the nuclear route. Will likely do that when I have some more time, and after I've had a chance to manually make notes on my setup customizations.
I'm planning on heading to the house with the router issue tonight. I won't have a lot of time but I'll definitely be rebooting...
Thank you @drinkingbird and @ColinTaylor for those comments.
I guess I spoke too soon in my earlier post as although I am not a home right now, I can see that my home network is completely offline as of some time within the last hour. So my RT-AC1900P router has crashed again. I guess I can...
I am currently running Merlin 386.11, but I didn't do a factory reset and manual reconfigure since I got the router, probably 3 years ago. Yesterday I figured out how to run a "clean-up script" I found on here,
for line in `nvram show | grep =$ `; do var=${line%*=}; nvram unset $var; done...
Thank you for that detailed response. I forgot to mention that I have wired backhaul between my router and AiMesh node. My ISP speed is currently not very impressive. 100Mbps download and 30Mbps upload. I would likely need to upgrade both my service and my cable modem to take advantage of a...
Hello,
I'm currently running an Asus RT-AC1900P as my main router with a second RT-AC1900P as an AiMesh node on my 1st and 3rd levels of a townhouse, respectively. I feel I've had good coverage with this setup but I'm wondering if it might be time to upgrade at least my main router. The...
Yesterday I updated my main router and AiMesh node (both RT-AC1900P) to 386.1_2
It took an hour for the GUI on the main router to be accessible, but after that all *seems* fine. Reading these last few posts, was I supposed to do something else? Is a hard reset a wiping of router settings, just...
I'm currently running RT-AC68U Merlin firmware version : 384.19 on my four RT-ACT1900P devices in two different houses. I don't know if that is an older release base than the ones you mentioned (based on the numbering scheme), but I do feel the latest firmware upgrade I have done is less stable...
Sorry - perhaps I misspoke or mislead you with my wording. I am NOT having power issues with any of my RT-AC1900P routers. Even when I've found I've lost all connectivity on my LAN (all devices without network/internet access), when I've gone to look at the router physically it IS still...
