Does the RT-AX88U have 2.4, 5.1 and 5.2 GHz radios ? Also does it have 9 guest network capability as the RT-AC5300 does ? Thinking about switching but the specs online are a bit confusing . . . Thx !

I thought I saw it had only one 5Ghz band rather than 5.1 and 5.2 but I may have been mistaken -

Only 2 bands on this one ? Losing one of the 5Ghz bands didn’t bother anyone ?

Hi - Reboot didn’t do anything. Can still see and comm with other devices on same guest network. Again set AP isolation on the 5.1 channel in Pro settings. Researched things but don’t see this as a common issue. Any insights ?

Thanks L&LD - Using NetAnalyzer (app on iOS) to see what else on the WiFi SSID. And will indeed reboot and see if that works. Will let you know

Follow up to Emerald: saw your post here to the question on how to best isolate IOT devices, where you said if they don’t need access to the LAN, then have them sign into a 2.4Ghz guest network with AP Isolation turned on. that is exactly what I want to do - so they cannot see/talk to each...

Understood on the cross post. And yeah, completely new SSIDs across the board and PWs too. Real odd situation

Thanks LD&D for prompt response. My SSIDs are 9-12 long. Would that make a huge difference ? All PWs are 12 long alphanumeric only. I also noticed another posting where someone was having identical issue with 5.1 radio. I posted there as well. Not sure whether here or there best place...

@Svenskmat - I have EXACTLY the same issue. Brand new router (RT-AC5300), first flash with 17, Factory reset, M&M config, etc. And my 5.1 radio either doesn’t show the SSIDs or it shows them but won’t take the PWs for them. My SSIDs are like 10-11 characters long, but they were that long...

Was thinking about upgrading to the GT-AC5300, but saw in some older threads that Merlin cannot run on it. Still true ?
