And I can report the opposite, which makes me wonder if maybe it is a hardware problem and maybe it only occurs in a certain percentage. I'm using less than you are, and it was unusable. Only thing I use is port forwarding. I don't use QOS or anything else. Nothing complicated here. And as...

I reviewed both the AC68U and R7000 thoroughly before I bought. Amazon reviews are 4 stars for the AC68U and 4.5 stars for the R7000. Makes it hard to make a decision when most are 5 stars but there's a significant cluster of 1's and 2's. Sometimes you have to just take a chance and wonder if...

Maybe I'm a little "green" when it comes to Asus routers because I bought the N66U late in the game. It worked fine until they broke the 2.4Ghz signal in the last two firmwares: part of what prompted me to buy the AC68 (I know, faulty logic). But I'm not used to buying a product to have it not...

Just an update. I did end up exchanging the AC68R at Best Buy for a Netgear R7000. I've had the R7000 running for about 29 hours now and not a single problem. None of my security cameras have dropped connection, both the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz WiFi are solid with no random slow-downs, and my phone...

I understand what you are saying and don't disagree. I'm an Android developer and I've corrected my fair share of bugs that make it through final testing and into smart phones so I'm familiar with this. Having said that, this is the first product I've purchased where I've seen so many errors...

I gotta say, I'm done now. My phone keeps jumping off the 5Ghz network back to the 2.4 so I told it to forget the 2.4. Now it keeps bumping off the 5Ghz network randomly and the phone says "authentication error". I've never had these problems with any router bfore. This one's going back to...

Oh well, spoke too soon. One of the cameras (it's always random which one) lost connection during the day today. Couldn't make it 24 hours connected. Had to unplug it and plug it back in. Strange thing is the 2.4 signal it uses is very strong. It just seems to lose that connection randomly...

I assume you've tried powering everything including your modem off and then powered back up in the proper sequence, starting with your modem? Also, Vonage will tell you that their device needs to hang right off the back of the modem and then the router plugs into the Vonage device. I wouldn't...

AC66u Web Interface Slow.. not slow... REALLY slow (2-3 min to load)

Thanks for letting me know there was a NOD7... and for this. As soon as I updated to NOD32 v7 the router web UI would no longer load. After adding 192.168.1.1 as an exclusion, works fine now. Mike

No, not typically. Why? I download a torrent now and then but it's rare and I don't leave any torrenting software running: I only open it on those rare occasions where I need it. Mike

I did this, and disabled b/g protection on the 2.4 Ghz tab and I've been 15 hours without a problem so far. Everything is staying connected. Could be coincidence so I'll keep monitoring. Mike

I have to say the more I work with 291 the more unstable it seems. I wonder too if Asus is going to recall the AC68's due to a hardware problem or something. I've gotten more and more complaints about "what's wrong with your WiFi". People with iPads, HTC Evo 4G LTE, and iPods are all...

Zero problems here with 2.4 Ghz signal. In fact, if anything, the AC68 is a couple dBM higher than my N66 when set to the same Tx power. Mike

I'm happy to report that the save settings feature now works with 291 and the "R" model! Thanks Asus! Mike

Sure seems that way. FWIW (one data point)... I'm not having any issues with 235. Well other than having to do the workaround to save settings on the "R" model. Mike
