    Status vs. official security update?

Yes. Still, ones end result will always bear better fruit for all parties involved if one took a more pedagogic approach to bringing the message forth, rather than being out front rude. And thanks, RMerlin, for a constructive answer.

    Status vs. official security update?

Not "me", as I've never asked such a question here before, but I understand you are referring to a conceptual general "you". Well, then I fall silent. Thank you for being exceptionally general, impolite and unhelpful.

    Status vs. official security update?

I'm running Merlin 384.18 on RT-AC68U. It was updated to binary blobs and SDK from official version 385.20490. Now on 2020-06-30 there came a security update from official Asus, listing: ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.385.20630 Security update - Fixed CVE-2020-12695 (CallStranger) -...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

I use AP mode, which also do not show the WAN page. The link is present in 384.4_2 under Administration -> System; "Click here to manage.". Try to reboot the router properly and clear your browser cache by use of F5 or Shift+F5 (depending on browser). Here is what I did to fix Firefox 59.x...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

My problem with Firefox 59.0.1 was solved by generating a new persistent certificate on asuswrt-merlin. Then open certificate manager in Firefox, delete all old stuff related to asuswrt-merlin and import the new certificate. (....And then, of course, make a permanent exception when going to the...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

I also have an RT-AC68U that I run as transparent AP. I connect to the WebUI only with HTTPS on port 8443. What changed for me from .3 to .4 is that I no longer, no way can connect to WebUI with Firefox 59.x as I reported in...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

When I updated from 380.x to 384.3 I did a full factory reset and configured everything anew by hand. Now I updated from 384.3 to 384.4. Things seem to work OK, except one thing that changed. Firefox 59.0 just times out when trying to connect to webui. No way I can make Firefox connect any...

    Dropbear timeout?

Problem solved. I just reused (misused?) my old thread to give a heads up on software update. In case it would be of any interest....

    Dropbear timeout?

Yes. The problem was that I had ServerAliveInterval activated in ssh_config. Does not work with Dropbear it seems....

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 is out

There seems to have been a problem with some routers (Linksys) that if you disable WPS in software... well, it's still on. I hope/reckon this is not the case here. http://arstechnica.com/business/2012/01/hands-on-hacking-wifi-protected-setup-with-reaver/

    Dropbear timeout?

Seems I found some sort of answer to this puzzling question: http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.network.ssh.dropbear/936 Seems that unless activated (with something like "-K 60" to the program, not -A as in the proposed patch in the mail) dropbear will ignore ServerAlive messages, thus making...

    Dropbear timeout?

Strange. When disabling "ServerAliveInterval" on the client side dropbear seems NOT to timeout..!?! Does this mean that sending keepalives to the dropbear server makes it disconnect the connection? The disconnect seems actually to happen at ServerAliveInterval intervals. Very strange indeed...

    Dropbear timeout?

Sorry if this been answered before. I didn't find any search function on this forum. I recently purchased an RT-AC68U and installed asuswrt-merlin 378.50_beta2. It seems to work great but one thing is a bit odd. I enabled dropbear ssh server login with only key login. This works fine but I get...
