Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Thanks for this. Man that's a lot of technical adjustments. Mine is pretty much stock. I don't need anything special. Currently running my old router. When I try this again I'll start playing with some of these settings.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49873 (2022/08/04)

Thanks I'll try to find it. Any other stable builds people recommend? I don't need anything special. Just don't want it to drop 10 times a day... Particularly during conference calls.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Nope no changes. I found this thread to see if updating to the more recent build could help, but it seems like many are having problems with this version too. Does anyone have any other ideas for me on a stable build? Currently I'm using an old router cuz this one won't even work.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

I'm on 49873. It's been stable for months. Yesterday it started dropping all the time. I've rebooted multiple times. Turned off the child node. Etc. Nothing works. Buggy as hell. I have had more issues with this router than any other I've ever owned. Really frustrating. Anyone got any advice?

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49873 (2022/08/04)

All of a sudden yesterday it started dropping again pretty often. Super frustrating. Don't want to "upgrade" to the most recent firmware because I see lots of complaints about instability there as well. From what I've read 42095 is the last / only stable build but I don't see that as an option...

Should I specify the DNS Servers?

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I might be fine with comcast dns instead of manually setting it up. There wasn't anything specific I was trying to accomplish. Just that I had read something about how phishing / hackers can possibly intercept the traffic request and then send you to a different site...

Should I specify the DNS Servers?

Hi All, I have an Asus ZenWifi XT8 router and can set the DNS servers. I've never done this before. Should I specify the DNS servers to be a little safer? If so, should I just use Google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or something else? Anything else I don't even know to ask? Thanks so much!

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49873 (2022/08/04)

Thanks everyone. I ended up doing a factory reset yesterday morning. It only ended up taking me about an hour to reconfigure everything. One whole day without dropping so far! That's an improvement. Currently on 49873.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49873 (2022/08/04)

Ok thanks for the advice. I didn't do a full factory reset yet. I rebooted everything multiple times but was hoping I wouldn't have to reconfigure all of the settings. You're probably right that it's time for that... or revert to 46980

    Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.21099 (2022/10/03 )

Thanks yea figured I'd have to redo all of that stuff. I'll try a few more options before factory reset. Just turned of QoS and 160 backhaul. Maybe that will improve something. Thanks again

    Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.21099 (2022/10/03 )

If doing the factory reset after updating firmware, do you need to reset SSID, PW and any port forwarding? Any other settings that are a pain to update after factory reset?

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49873 (2022/08/04)

I'm currently on 49873 and my system drops a couple of times per day. I've been on this firmware for couple of months and just started noticing this a few weeks back (though maybe it happened previously). I never had any issues before "upgrading" the firmware but I'm not sure what firmware I was...

Linksys WRT1900AC AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Router Review

2.4ghz was slightly slower than 5ghz. Maybe we could trade emails and I could send you the debug log as a txt file?

Linksys WRT1900AC AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Router Review

SFX.. by PM, do you mean start a conversation? That's the only option I see when I click on your profile. Problem is that the log is too long so it won't let me post it. And it doesn't allow attachments so I can't put it in a text file for you either.

Linksys WRT1900AC AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Router Review

Correct, 2.4 has a different ssid than 5ghz. The shield device is 15 - 20 feet from the router. It's in the room underneath so it has to go through 1 floor (from upstairs to main floor) but that's it. The shield tv shows full bars and "excellent" signal strength. I could sideload some wifi...
