    I have a new AX6000 on the way to replace an older AX58u+AC86u AiMesh thing. I have both 2.4 and 5g on the same SSID, smart connect disabled. Doesn’t make sense to me now, seems to work… mostly. lol does using separate SSIDs matter and does this smart connect thing work well? many 2.4 devices...

    RT-AX3000 will not take 386 firmware

    Thank you, the file didn't have the .w extension, worked with the new download! The Asus files do not have the file to check that Merlin adds.

    RT-AX3000 will not take 386 firmware

    I have a fairly new RT-AX3000 running 384 firmware, I tried manually uploading the 386 firmware for AX3000 and just get and error that the firmware in not correct. using the GUI update, it does say there is an update, and just keeps installing 384. I did a reset from the GUI and I get prompt...

    I just found out, different transformers. there is a clear line of sight. this might be the only option. thanks again for this.

    I was thinking a powerline adapter, I am pretty sure they are on different power tho. just trying to help a friend get internet to his yard office that is 500 ft. from the main building that has a cable connection. they can not dig with too many pipes in the ground. thanks again!

    We would like to try and get 500ft. strictly outside with no obstructions. I usually use Asus routers with Merlin software, not sure if one of the newer routers would make sense like an RT-AX58U. would just hope to make 2.4GHz connection. I have no idea if this is even worth trying...

    AC86U and 384.14_2 some wireless issues

    since going to 384.14_2 I lose wireless sometimes and have to reboot the router. always comes back after reboot. wired connections fine. this is the first time I have done a factory reset after upgrading. I left everything as default except change nameserver to 1.1.1.1

    Thank you, did the factory reset after putting the lastest Merlin software and the router works perfectly.

    ordered! arrives today. hopefully, a quick flash with Merlin works, I have always just flashed and never an issue. I think it's s called a dirty flash?

    Is the Asus Rt-ac66u B1 a decent router to recommend to friends and family that want to ditch the thing that the cable company gave them? the merlin software has worked well on my 86u.

    RT-AC86U out of stock - next best choice?

    My install worked out well with 86U, was not seen at first on the network until I plugged my laptop into it. was then able to configure. works great with latest Merlin software.
